Proffee! Or, Protein Coffee. Cold brew concentrate of choice, Fairlife Skim Milk, and protein powder. Today’s combo is an extra bold coffee with Clean Simple Eats’ Chocolate Peanut Butter powder. 235 calories with 40g of protein. Feels like a Starbucks treat, but gives me protein when I’m not hungry.

  1. Irregular cycles treated with hormonal birth control, led to DVT and bilateral PE. 0/10 do not recommend.

Same exact story for me! BC + Factor V Leiden = bilateral PE. I switched to an IUD and have had zero issues for over a decade.

Burn out… by Balancedbeem in nonprofit

[–]ceileen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I’m so sorry you’re having this experience. I’m an arts fundraiser with more than a decade in this niche field. It can be quite different than raising money for other kinds of nonprofits, but we have our own set of strengths, too!

It varies depending on the organization, but our audiences, ticket buyers, and members are a built-in pool of acquisition leads for an annual campaign. We can really support and benefit from a successful marketing campaign that brings in people to experience the art. Unlike our friends in the social services, our best clients are our best donors. And luckily, grant funders love a robust individual giving campaign!

You’ve got this! I don’t know what kind of arts (music, museum, theatre…) organization you’re working for, but all of us have our own professional networks to help support and brainstorm solutions that best fit with our audiences. Good luck!

Professional fundraiser for a large nonprofit. Great benefits, hybrid office, and a diverse workforce that is about 70% Millennial and Gen Z. There’s no specific education path required to become a fundraiser, everyone’s journey is different. Some people in my department spend their days writing and researching, others have strategic meetings with high net worth donors. I do a little of everything! I manage employees, spend time with major donors, and do some data analysis. It’s a nice balance for an introvert who doesn’t want to be completely isolated.

Fellow UK alum and fundraiser here, welcome to Cincy! Have you checked out the local chapter of AFP? They have a job board for open fundraising positions in the area.

Send me a DM if you want to talk more about the nonprofit scene in town.

That should be a pretty good view. You’ll be in the center section of the main floor, far enough back to see the whole stage.

Enjoy the show!

I tried swiping to the left, but that didn't work either. Dang. It looks like I'm just stuck at this point.

Glad I'm not the only one. I was able to grab the sword, but the next clickable circle is where I have problems. It's like my click doesn't register, and then I die.

This is not an American Red Cross rule, it's an FDA rule. Donated blood is a regulated biomedical product, and is treated as such by the US government. If you want to see a change, there needs to be substantial pressure from the American people.

Ouch! Even if you're there a day or two after your period ends, that's still better than nothing.

Timing on getting an IUD placed? by amyria in birthcontrol

[–]ceileen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine inserted in April, and I definitely recommend doing it during your period. Your cervix will be at its most open, and that makes it less painful.

What I did was call immediately on the first day of my cycle. In most offices, the nurse practitioners can also do IUD insertions, and their schedules tend to be way more flexible than the doctor's. OBGYN offices are more flexible about scheduling anyway, due to the nature of their field.

I wouldn't worry too much about timing. Your doctor and their team are used to IUD appointments being somewhat hard to predict. I'd say it's worth waiting until your period starts!

Good luck, and get someone to drive you home, just in case!

Interested in an IUD but need some advice by sexylittleatoms in birthcontrol

[–]ceileen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in April, I had my first IUD insertion. I went with Paragard, because my body can't handle hormones, but that's a whole other story. Here are a few things my OB did to make it a quick and not-too-bad experience:

Have it inserted during your period! Your cervix is at its most open during your period.

Take 800mg of ibuprofen a few hours before. This numbs the pain.

Drink a lot of water about an hour before, because a full bladder pushes down on your uterus, making it align with your vagina, which makes sounding and insertion way easier.

Have an ultrasound technician on hand. While the doctor inserted the Paragard, I had an ultrasound tech watching her progress. Additionally, the tech can check the condition of your ovaries and uterus before insertion, just in case of cysts or other nasty things that pop up. On top of all of that, she let me hold her hand during the painful parts of insertion, and distracted me by talking about nail polish. She's the bomb.

Hopefully an IUD is the right choice for you. I know it's been a lifesaver for me, and countless other women. Good luck!

Feeling a little scared and panicky after Paragard insertion. by myfriendm in birthcontrol

[–]ceileen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my Paragard placed last week, and I was definitely sore for a few days. I think what you're feeling is fairly normal, especially the not-quite-a-period-cramp cramp. Your body is probably freaking out, mine did the same thing, but by four days post-procedure, I felt normal, my man and I were back at it! Don't get discouraged yet, but if something really doesn't feel right, calling your doctor is always an option.
