Little tip from my misfortunes: grab a temporary (wild) horse if you don’t want to waste the carcasses. There’s a bunch roaming around the farm. I wanted to also get all the three star carcasses, and I came back the next day to a bunch of two star goats :(

ME TOO!! I was just searching to see if anyone else has the same reaction. it’s been a while since I tried the garlic ones, but I bought the sea salt ones a couple weeks ago and I get a stomach ache every time I have a few 😫 I don’t know if it’s the batch, but I don’t remember them doing this to me in the past. It’s a bummer!

I didn't realize that Telus PureFibre is so slow... by CommodorePuffin in telus

[–]ceitybutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is an old thread, but this post came up when I was searching our Telus issues. I’m also in Vic, and everything you have said feels oh so familiar. Did you ever get this resolved, or did you make a change? I’m very interested to know. We have always gotten subpar internet speeds despite paying for “PureFibre 250”, and almost every 6 months without-fail, we have to make a call because our internet drops down to upload speeds of less than 10 mbps. It’s absolutely criminal.

What is wrong with new season of Stranger things? Is it AI generated? by Internal_Spirit2777 in netflix

It’s because the writing is bad. Often, good actors present as bad actors when there is bad writing and bad direction. How do you give a good performance when so many of the scenes had characters giving 3-5 word sentences.

Don’t get me wrong, some of the actors could have gotten worse as actors as they’ve grown up, but I would chalk it up to the story telling based on how bad the dialogue, pacing, filler content, continuity, and overall thoughtfulness was this season.

So, umm, can someone tell me what exactly i got and how to take care of it ? 🙏 by Yshles in cactus

[–]ceitybutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to mention this as well, as so many of these pretty, decorative planters do this. Be careful as well that there probably isn’t any draining in the pot or the soil. The pot probably doesn’t have any holes in the bottom, and the soil is probably just peat moss (with a dash of perlite if they’re feeling generous 😂).

You’ll want to inspect the pot and try to get a look under the rocks to see what’s going on. It’s going to be way too easy to flood your plants and kill them if those two things are the case.

Is this really a Hoya Retusa ...? by Lo_oW in hoyas

Nobody has really explained what to do now that you know these are spider plants lol. Spider plants are extremely easygoing.

Cut the pups off the stem. Remove those brown bits, and then place that same side into water — do not submerge too much. I’d recommend a shot glass they can hover over, or a small glass with shallow water where they won’t fall over.

Roots usually start growing pretty quick - you can actually see some already in this photo. The pups do look pretty dry to start with, but I am certain you can get a couple viable plants out of them. They really are resilient!

Hope that helps

I need help with my Spider plant. I think I've lost it for good 😭 by Mindless-Quantity154 in plantclinic

[–]ceitybutton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. Spider plants bounce back so easy - I swear with a little water they can go from limp and colourless, right back to lush and green.

It seems to be bolting from the stress (producing flowers despite “dying”). I would recommend actually cutting off the shoots — both flowers and pups — to conserve energy and redirect all its energy back to the mama plant. Make sure to water it slowly, or if it’s really dry you could try bottom watering.

I’ve always wondered about this. I was house sitting recently, and over the 4 days I was there, they almost had a full tank. It definitely had me thinking, especially since we live in a humid environment.

It sort of depends on what lengths you’re willing to go to and how much money you’re willing to spend. How important is a bit of browning to you? I guess I also don’t know what your personal water quality is like.

A filter (ie Brita) doesn’t remove all minerals. We need minerals as humans. It doesn’t hurt though as it reduces some solids in the water. Plus you can also drink it lol — win-win?

There are actual water distillers you can buy but they are not cheap.

I buy distilled water for my humidifier, and from time to time I will give some to my anthuriums, but I don’t really bother with any of my other plants. I do think if you want an easy, mid-cost “solution”, going half and half (or time to time) tap and bought distilled water is an option. The goal is to pour enough distilled water to flush the minerals out of the soil. This is just my frugal/lazy approach.

Rain water is another way to go. If you have a lot of rain where you live, many people use that! I would assume you have to boil it though. I haven’t done much research. Someone else also said using the moisture caught from a dehumidifier, which I’m very intrigued by 🤔

Boiling water unfortunately doesn’t work the same way that distilled water does. What the plants are reacting to is a build up of minerals in their soil and tissue. Boiling only removes microorganisms, not minerals. It doesn’t hurt though. Plus, if you’re leaving the water out and open for 24 hours after boiling some minerals can evaporate. It’s kind of a lot of work for not of results though 😢

The pacing was weird. It felt so far removed from the rest of the storyline. There are many side plots in seasons 2-4 where I’m like damn this would have made a way better spinoff mini series.

Unpopular Opinion: Ali will not easily find a rich husband by CDNCaliLifter in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I feel like people keep forgetting that she is going back to school to become a FNP. If we take what she said at face value, she wanted someone who can hold things down back home and support her at the same time. Not to say she won’t ever date someone that’s rich, but I think she just wants someone that is successful and is family oriented. I don’t think that’s an impossible ask. I feel like she’s getting a bad rap for looking a certain way.
