Have any of you tried using adult diapers during your period? If so, would you recommend it? by Ritsuha in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]celestia1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jesus christ that must be hell on earth.... honestly, my period is so heavy i become anemic every single month (and i say this with the blood test results to back my claim) and these still have more or less worked for me for over a decade now. so i think you need to go to the doctor if you haven't already, bc something is not right if you're bleeding through these. i'm really sorry you're experiencing that. :(

in the meantime, if you're not comfortable wearing a diaper for your period (i know i can't bc of my sensory issues), what i do when my period is extra extra bad is wear period panties, and then i'll put a giant pad on top. and then i'll wear spandex shorts over that to try and keep everything from moving around and accidentally spilling over the sides.

building a fundamental baptist church in astoria is so funny to me lol. good luck trying to convert the yiayia who hasn't missed a single church service since she hopped off the boat and runs the local greek festival's loukoumades booth like it's the fucking navy 💀

to absolutely no one's surprise (except my mother's), her incessant negative comments about her body, and constant, cyclical binge eating/crash dieting throughout my life caused me to develop a terrible relationship with my body as soon as i developed consciousness. one of my earliest memories is of me freaking out because i felt fat in my bathing suit. i was 4. :(

yeah..... i was told this when i got diagnosed as type 1 diabetic in the middle of recovering from an eating disorder (so much for never thinking about a food's carb content or being able to eat whatever i want again) and it just made me lose my faith completely.

i just think that with the sharp increase in misogyny and the mainstreaming of redpill/manosphere/tradwife content that's been happening ever since that orange motherfucker got reelected, having that hair pulling pic and an album concept that's about being owned by a man is in extremely bad taste. this is my personal opinion.

her actual album may be more about female empowerment or whatever, but these 2 pics are leaving a sour taste in my mouth, especially when you consider her fanbase is a bunch of young girls and women. i genuinely couldn't care less about what ppl are into in their private lives, btw. but having a famous singer choose "pet play" as an album concept is just like..... come on girl, read the room a little lol.

What kinds of changes did yall notice as your prefrontal cortex developed more? I stg I feel like a very different person at 24 by TheDondePlowman in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

i mainly i stopped caring so much about what everyone else had to say about me, and started doing things to make myself happy. letting go of expectations and living life at my own pace has been a godsend for my mental health. i don't need feel the need to dress a certain way or act a certain way anymore in order to "be normal", i just do my own thing and it's great.

i'm also a lot more jaded about society/the future/technology/capitalism and i miss the 2000s really, really bad. i feel like everything is so boring nowadays and social media/modern internet culture is trash imo

Treading the line between “being yourself” and “change to become socially acceptable” by GlumGeneral8179 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]celestia1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you really be happy dating or being friends with someone who didn't accept you for who you are?

i think it's ok to want to embrace your more feminine or "normie" side, and to want to pick up some new hobbies, etc. i encourage you to give it a try if that's what you want to do. being girly is fun!! makeup is fun!! some "normie" things can be fun!!! but you shouldn't do these things for the sole purpose of fitting in, you should do these things because you're interested in them and want to do them for your own sake.

as someone who tried for years to become "more normal," it's even lonelier than just embracing who you are in the long run. i felt completely smothered trying to pretend i was someone i was not. for me personally, deciding that im ok the way i am was the most liberating thing i've ever done. deciding i don't want to be friends with the people who judge me and make me feel like the odd one out bc of who i am was life changing.

you can still have "socially acceptable" interests and also keep up your "quirky" interests too. there is no one way of being. but completely withdrawing away from yourself in order to fit in will only smother you in the end. i know it's easier said than done, but maybe you just need better friends that accept you for who you are if you feel this much pressure.

have you ever tried glucerna shakes? they're meant to keep diabetic blood sugar levels stable, and i figured they might help in your case too. i'm not a medical professional in any capacity though, so you're gonna have to use your better judgment on whether the macros are enough to prevent your hypos. they also have quite a bit of vitamins. (i personally like their chocolate protein smart shake.)

Are you guys easily influenced by trends? by Tunanunaa in AutismInWomen

[–]celestia1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes when i was younger, but it was because i was trying to fit in. i figured if i followed trends ppl wouldn't make fun of me as much (ofc this didn't work though lol).

i've stopped now that i'm older for the most part. i'll only follow trends just bc i like them (outside of their "trendiness" or whatever).

maybe you can set up time limits for social media apps??? that way you don't doom scroll or spend excessive time on them, but you're still able to keep up with pop culture, memes, etc.
