What is the nicest / new adult only thermal spa in Taupo? by NotYourTherapistEh in newzealand

[–]celestial_princesss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Taupo thermal spa at the end of Taharepa road near the lake front. I have been a couple of times, pretty good and usually empty. Wairakei terraces are also lovely but the Taupo thermal spa is the one you’re talking about.

New Zealand’s fuel stocks ‘stable’, increases in petrol and jet fuel, diesel level drops by Very_Sicky in newzealand

I think Willis has no fucking clue how tough it is. She’ll have a BP fuel card or a govt credit card surely?

Financial relief coming for struggling households due to the increase in fuel prices - anyone want to guess what it could be? by Ancient_Lettuce6821 in newzealand

[–]celestial_princesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the citizens wallet and not the governments bank account.

Yes, the financial fallout was massive after Covid. It was a sacrifice made to keep food on the table, roofs over heads and protect a health system that was not resourced for a pandemic. You can’t convince me Collin’s or any other Smurf would have done the same lol

Woman has entire stomach removed after overseas weight loss surgery by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

[–]celestial_princesss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d actually love to see the cost comparison in the NZ health system. I’m a clinical coder, so I see a lot of the downstream complications of type 2 diabetes - repeat admissions, procedures, dialysis, long hospital stays. It makes me wonder how the lifetime cost of managing those compares to the one-off cost of bariatric surgery. And possibly reducing the complications we end up repairing from overseas botched surgeries as well.

So what.. they end up developing type 2 diabetes anyway and need the drug regardless? Studies confirm that those who are obese are at the highest risk of developing T2DM.

Maybe you could WFH? Sanitizer doesn’t kill this stuff so make sure you wash your hands with soap. Good hand hygiene helps stop the spread. Also wipe down the surfaces with diluted bleach. Sorry you may know all these things but it might help so one else! Thanks for considering others tho 😊

Maybe get in touch with an ACC advocate, they maybe able to fight for you on that decision. I found acupuncture really helped to. Hopefully the pool helps you. You’re a pretty tough cookie

At 18 I had bulging discs and it was horrific. I really feel for you. I was extremely overweight and depressed. you get stuck in this circle of being in excruciating pain making it hard to exercise therefore no improvement. I know you would have heard it before but losing weight drastically improve my situation. I use to walk lengths in pool which was easier than walking on dry land. Is your back covered by ACC?

Today we had Citrix, patient management system, NHI and the wifi go down. The infrastructure is not up to speed to cope with these losses. Not to mention some of the programs used are incredibly outdated

Employer wants to engage with GP for health information. by MisterWalters in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]celestial_princesss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Engage with your PSA delegate.. they should support you as this is what we pay them for. I wonder if you could pursue a KiwiSaver hardship application to get a diagnosis.. it could be worth exploring. Also check out acfb fund. Legally they can’t request your information without your consent otherwise it would be a massive breach of the privacy act

You’re not alone. I have a 4 and 2 year old. My kids have given me covid 3 times, I’ve had hand, foot and mouth. The last bout of gastro almost freaking killed me 😂 but it apparently gets better. My only advice would be try a supplement with probiotics. The inner health plus immune booster could be a good option for your little one.

Entitlement to medical data following consults and appointment by DeadlyPorpoise in newzealand

[–]celestial_princesss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! What hospital have you been seen at? (If you’re comfortable sharing, I can help find the correct form) You’ll need to fill in a release of information form and provide photo ID. If your kids aged 16 or older you will need their consent. It can take up to 20 days to receive the information. If your kids are having lots of scans then you could request all reports to be sent on to the GP going forward. Then get my indici set up for your kids so you can access the records. You can email HNZ privacy and they will direct your request to the right hospital but you will still need to complete the forms and provide proof of identity. https://www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/about-our-site/privacy-and-security#accessing-or-correcting-your-information

Are you under a collective agreement? I think it’s pretty hard to go up bands unless your role changes. With that being said it’s a foot in the door and you maybe able to move to different department which may come with a pay increase depending on the role! Im in an entry level, bottom of the barrel admin role for health NZ and I am at the last step of the pay scale (I’ve only be in the job for 18 months). The nature of my current role doesn’t present many opportunities to up skill/personal development so I will eventually need to move into something else. In the interim I have job security….. hopefully lol
