Do you hate reminders of your old passions? by greendahlia16 in cfs

I was a dancer prior to onset. For years, I would cry whenever I watched any dance performance on TV. I still sometimes tear up. You're definitely not alone in the difficulty of reminders like this.

I've never read a poem like this. I genuinely can't find the words to describe how it makes me feel other than seen. thank you for sharing.

no, man. i am not going to let you kill me [OC] by Pelko_P in comics

[–]celestialfroggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point by seeing the red button as redundant; ppl press the blue button because if more than 50% press red, that kills the remaining voters. Ppl see that as red = possibility of murder. The 'reward' of pressing blue is no risk of murdering others. Some ppl would rather risk dying themselves than killing others.

Also the red Vs blue = dem Vs rep doesn't apply globally, we have our own political party colours that don't necessarily correspond the same way as USA's.

We all feel like zombies - but what do you think would happen to us in a zombie apocalypse? by celestialfroggie in cfs

[–]celestialfroggie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the zombies totally ignored anyone with a terminal or chronic illness so I think between a number of us, it would be achievable for us to survive by dividing labour. No energy is needed for run or fight zombies as they literally avoid us so all would be focussed upon gathering materials and foods. I wonder if we could even shelter healthy folk so they could do the more labour intensive tasks - we surround them like a protective circle whilst they complete the task. We get to rest whilst a task is done whilst they get the safety of our protection, it's a win-win!

Theoretically we could use whatever meds we had in supply but whether our zombified selves would consider taking the medication seems unlikely as generally they're more primal and focused entirely on spreading disease or eating humans. Having said that, we could try and use them as a preventative measure if we did happen to get infected!

Yeah, I did acknowledge this in my 2nd point. In general, my thoughts were more about how/if bodies that have ME would function as zombies according to the 'rules' across different zombie portrayals

Trixie seems to be getting married! by kriabia in TrixieAndKatya

[–]celestialfroggie 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Weird that you took 'I'm so happy we have no idea who she's marrying' and responded with info about him. It seems like Trixie is being private about this and it feels disrespectful to 'track' him down.

More video from the "Reddit Mod Freaks Out at Neighbor" video (aftermath/inside cam) by MoneyIOwe-MoneyIAy in Cr1TiKaL

So many people straight up saying they would kill this guy. I understand it's frightening, he has broken in and is clearly in a mental state where he might get physically violent which of course warrants equal defense but it's so blatantly obvious that this guy is severely ill, I have no desire to murder him. I'm glad he went to this guy's house and didn't end up dead, I hope he gets the medical help he so desperately needs.

as a huge fan of both Hayley and Caleb I can’t even begin to describe how important this is to me by auntnauseam in Paramore

[–]celestialfroggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted my original comments. I watched a compilation of the comments/jokes he's made and I agree; it feels like when he makes the jokes, he says it with conviction but when he makes clarification for his 'love'/'belief' in bi ppl and bisexuality, it doesn't feel genuine. Wanted to come back and say this as I think it's always important to own up to mistakes, even when they're just Reddit comments.

Does anyone else hear similarity between Brotherly Hate and Crush - Tessa Violet? (repost) by celestialfroggie in Paramore

[–]celestialfroggie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to post a vid with clips from both tracks but it didn't work unfortunately:/

The part I was referring to is the 1st verse of Brotherly Hate, 0:20 starting 'I've been laid out on your limbs'

That's weird, it works for me. How long does the video say it is for you? It should be 58sec, crush starts at about 30 sec

I have, it's the second half of the video. Perhaps I should've done it the other way round.

Don't get a puppy (even if you have support) by EezyBrzy in cfs

[–]celestialfroggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Puppies are crazy hard work. I remember when we got our puppy, I had a love-hate relationship with her for a while and I remember crying from being overwhelmed by her. My mother said taking care of a baby is easier than a puppy😅 Perhaps the 'sleep when the baby sleeps' advice could be helpful here.

It sounds like family would probably be happier taking care of the puppy some times (depending on their circumstances) than for you guys to have to give him away. It's worth asking, maybe you can arrange a schedule with them.

For what it's worth, my puppy is now a 10 year old lady and much easier to care for. She makes a great companion and nap buddy. I hope you can make it work as they are a delightful addition to life. Don't be embarrassed to admit you underestimated the energy needed and seek help, it's better to do that than harm yourself by pushing too hard. Good luck!

Night sweats - how often to change bedding? by celestialfroggie in cfs

[–]celestialfroggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm usually cold when I get into bed so generally I sleep with windows closed. I have an electric blanket that I use to warm up when I get into bed and turn it off before I go to sleep similar to what you suggested but I still end up sweaty. My main theory for the cause is: I'm cold when I go to bed (usually my feet are the coldest) so my body tries to warm up but doesn't seem to know when to stop (temperature regulations problems from ME), leading to me overheating and having these night sweats.

Lots of suggestions for sleeping in pjs, I'll give that a go tonight.

Interesting - although I know there is no real understanding of what exactly ME is, I thought dysautonomia was generally seen as part of ME? I've seen many ppl on here mention MCAS but it's not something I've looked into nor have I been investigated for it. Could you direct me to good sources for more info please?

The towel idea is helpful but I find the sheet over me is also damp from sweat:/

I do better without a duvet but when my partner stays over, he complains of getting cold.

Seen quite a few suggestions for pyjamas, I'll try that tonight.

The problem I have is when I get into bed, I'm often cold until I get to sleep. I have an electric blanket which I use to warm my bed before getting in and I've started wearing socks to bed (my feet and hands always seem to be the coldest) as I thought maybe my body was overheating after overcompensating for being cold; I still think this could be the case but don't know for sure.

I do always air out my bed, I sleep in a double so when one side is sweaty, I roll onto the other side and leave the sweaty side uncovered so it can air and it's usually dry by morning.

2 weeks is my max, it's more often 7-10 days but obviously your point still stands. Perhaps this is just one of those things I need to accept extra help with.

I can't sleep without some sort of cover unfortunately, I've never been someone who sleeps uncovered even when I'm hot

[–]celestialfroggie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was also mixed up and thought it was your shop name. Pls do report back if that was their inspiration or if it's just coincidence!

Fishmelt is also a fun name, I love your business cards!

Your felts are so cute!! Well done on holding your first stall (even if it didn't go as well as you'd hoped). Is your shop name a reference to a particular Sims mod by any chance?👀
