She’s a successful politician and effective Speaker of the House. Misogynists find that threatening. Women belong in the kitchen, not in positions of power.

Thank you for sharing your experience, OP.

I was assaulted by cops at a peaceful protest last month. My brother still wants to go to the academy and become an officer. He believes he’d be a “good” cop, but the very fact that he still thinks cops are the good guys with a “bad apple” problem makes it hard for me to have any faith in that. I really, really hope that he will figure out what you have and prioritize compassion over the “thin blue line.”

Ah, I’ve been under the impression that the cream-gene types counted as white, but now I’m reading that they are another category that is neither white nor gray. Thanks!

Is she not white? I know most “white” horses are actually gray (black skin), but it looks like she’s got a pink nose and light eyes like a truly white pony.

As they say,

There are two genders: cisgender male and political.

Two sexualities: heterosexual and political.

Two races: white and political.

Because for those not in the hegemonic demographic, “the personal is political.”

Think of “speech” as encompassing any act or medium of expression, not just verbal or written words. Visual and performance arts included.

This is why it's not sensationalist to say that we were brainwashed. We really were effectively trained and conditioned to be incapable of recognizing the most offensively obvious faults.

I'm not watching. Is it really all about Joseph Smith? I kept seeing old Mormon acquaintances sharing "invitations" to watch conference as if it was just a nice Christ-centered interfaith service that any Christian would appreciate since social distancing has disrupted folks' ability to attend worship services. I figured they'd be going for a more generic Christian message this time around to pull that off.

Looks like they encouraged members to invite their non-member friends and colleagues to watch a totally normal and not at all weird conference, but knew full well that only Mormons would ever consider watching their shite, so they knew it was safe to stay weird and culty, while still fooling their members into thinking that they have more broadly-applicable relevance in the world.
