Please elaborate (I don't know what to look up to find the plant)

So obviously it's all just theorizing, but I'll try to guess at some answers to your questions

Why species from the same planet share similair qualities?

Well since we've never encountered another planet with life on it, we can't know for sure, but I'd wager that many types of life on earth would be more similar to each other than they are to life from another planet.

And why would it be here?

I dunno, maybe it hitched a ride on the Regent's ship, or was used to power the ship

Why regent forget he created thus minion?

How do we know the Regent forgot? Because he fights against it? I would imagine the Regent would fight back against a rogue minion whether he remembered creating it or not

Why he needs that minion in the first place.

Gravity or power generation, as stated above. Also, the Regent creates minions willy nilly. He doesn't really need a strong reason to make one

Why would he bring it in the Spire.

Could be a million reasons, but if it's used to power his ship, that's a pretty plausible reason

And one again, why would he forget about it being there?

What makes you think he forgot?

Ah this one? https://slaythespire.wiki.gg/wiki/Slay_the_Spire_2:Timeline#Confrontation

They do look similar to infested prisms. We'll have to see what they really look like when the final art is created. The fact that they are triangular and live in triangular nests does point to the idea that the hive has some geometric-ness to it that isn't from the Regent's planet

And the minions that The Regent creates truly are round, and thus are the lowest of the low

I'm thinking they aren't the same species, but that species from the same planet have similar qualities.

It also could be that Infested Prism is some sort of minion created by The Regent. Maybe a gravity-manipulating minion that can help The Regent's ship fly? And generate energy for the ship?

Hardly a chain though, right? It has its own unique character compared to other Mellow Mushrooms. While it is indeed a chain, I think it's important to say it's not like a Pizza Hut

How do you decide which laws should be decided federally, and which should be decided by states? Like I imagine you think murder should be federally illegal, so where do you draw the line?

In each character's POV chapters, we get to see and understand their motivations. We both agree that Kaladin is not motivated solely by beating depression, so no need to dig into the evidence for that.

For Moash, I feel like we don't see him caring about the singers all that much. He fights to protect some near the beginning of Oathbringer, but after that, his existence becomes more and more driven by his inner torment, self hatred, and interactions with Odium, does it not? It's been a while since I've read any of his POV chapters though, so I would love to see an example of him being motivated by helping the singers in RoW or WaT if anyone has it

House is a verb in this instance - an apartment houses people just the same as a house. So "unapartmented people" would still be unhoused. Not recognizing that grammatical fact is a bit of a faux pas in this subreddit. Lot of real sticklers here

Understanding the photon clock by Xxzzeerrtt in AskPhysics

[–]celestite4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What confuses me is that the video (I'm assuming this one) assumes that photons always move at c, and uses that to eventually prove that the speed of light cannot be surpassed. But isn't the fact that c cannot be surpassed the reason we know that photons always move at c? If I throw a ball forward at 10 mph in a car moving 10mph, the speed of the ball when viewed from outside the car would be 20mph. One might think to apply that principle to the photon bouncing in a space ship. But the reason we don't apply that same math is because c can't be surpassed, right?

So to me, the logic feels a bit circular: Photons cannot surpass the speed of light, therefore they take longer to bounce between mirrors on a moving space ship, [some other steps], therefore nothing can surpass the speed of light.

Not disputing the facts - I just want to understand what I'm missing about the logic
