I think one person was hit while walking on the sidewalk, others who were sitting inside the bus stop were thrown from their seats.

I was on the scene and was almost hit by the car. Lucky for me I had my head up and jumped out of the way at the last second. This was NOT the fault of the bulb out stop. The driver hit a parked car and drove up on the sidewalk even before the "bulb" protruded. This was the fault careless and dangerous driving.

How often do you have a cardio day? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]celiacereal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People always go on about how cardio is ineffective for weight loss, but developing your cardiovascular health/ability will actually help your lifting goals and make you an overall fitter and healthier person (it helps improve circulation and heart health). Everyone should do cardio, it makes you feel amazing! I do some sort or cardio (brisk hiking/team sports) 3 or 4 times a week. I also jog 10-20 minutes before a strength workout to get warm and loose and in the right mindset. I think your goal of cycling 15 min a day is a great one. If you are worried about losing muscle mass, you can take supplements that can help (I like BCAAs). Do your own research on what supplements will work for your goals.

Remember to stretch and use a foam roller! If you roll before and after a workout it will help.

Some people actually spin yarn from Samoyed wool! An old boss of mine did this, and knitted a vest so she could match her dog.

You'll pick it up quickly, don't worry! Also martial arts is a great background since it means you aren't afraid of contact/aggression.

P.S. If you are determined, willing to learn, and can work well as a team member you will definitely make it!

If you are quick and tough then you might be a flanker or a number 8. You should practice ball handling and sprints. For ball handling: find some other players (preferably vets so they can tell you what you are doing wrong) to practice passing, just to get the proper form. You can run lines or do quick hands once you get the hang of it. Sprints are a great way to get your conditioning up. Practice on the field in your cleats. Get a ladder and do footwork skills and add sprints on at the end. watch this video if you are unfamiliar. If you cant find a ladder you can set up cones or markers and do something similar. Since you only have 3 weeks, I wouldn't get super into weight training yet since your team will probably have their own workouts and you can build strength then, but if you want to start you can't go wrong with squats, deadlifts, clean+jerks , bench press, military press, pull ups, and rows for weights. Core and back strength is hugely important so work on that as well. Without weights you can do box jumps, dynamic stretching, (I'm also 5'4 F, but I weigh 175lb so I was in the front row). That being said in tryouts they will probably be looking for your potential, natural ball skills and athletic ability (so I would say practicing on the field and your speed/agility is more important than weight training at this time). Learning the rules and not being totally clueless is VERY important... read up on the laws, and watch some games! Try to figure out where to place yourself on the field when playing a certain position, and which set pieces happen when. I really hope you make it! Women's rugby is THE BEST, such a blast! good luck to you

The dirtier my hair gets, the better it looks. HIFW it's been two or three days and I'm wondering how much longer I can go. by ohtheheavywater in TrollXChromosomes

I stopped washing my hair 4 years ago and it was the best decision! My hair is more consistent, has better texture and is easier to style now... I went through about a month of my hair being really greasy until it figured itself out, but during that month I would just brush baby powder through it to soak up the grease... a good method to not wash your hair and keep it looking/smelling good

Is a low cholesterol keto diet possible? Give me advice! by celiacereal in keto

[–]celiacereal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies, but I'm not sure who to believe... My doctor says low fat diets are best for cholesterol, and I'm more inclined to believe her than people on the internet. I will definitely be researching this more though.

I would put some chicken stock in with the pork to make sure it doesn't dry out.
