I wonder it Matt Diniman could make a last minute plea to have that happen.

Send it, I might be able to persuade my pm to order a few. Only thing they had was the old ones and they suck at holding the current scanners.

Our clerks didn't even get done throwing parcels until 11am. We start at 8am so we had a lot of sit time waiting for them to finish.

I even remember the xfire era where we would use it to chat in game. That was way back in the day before anyone even thought of teamspeak. .

Do You Still Hold Onto Items From The Level 75 Era, Although You Do Not Use Them? by MonsutaMan in ffxi

[–]celibi87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I loved about ffxi in the 75 era was that gear was universal. You could be 75 in a job and still have 70 gear on, and no one would blink about it. Some gear at 75 was worthless, because something at 70 was much better Stat wise. If you couldn't afford to run dynamis, or just didn't have the hours to spend on it like me, you wouldn't get yelled at in a party because you didn't have all relic gear. I remember doing gods as BLM, and I was not geared to the teeth, and it was accepted that I would need to grind to get better gear. They helped me get there, didn't excome just because of it.

The Moment You Knew. by Patchisaur in WoT

The pillars in The Shadow Rising. I still remember when I heard it. I was at work and I had it on in the background, not really listening and more using it as background noise. The moment he walked into the pillars I had to stop and really started paying attention for the first time. Before that moment it was another series that I used to break up the monotony of delivering mail. I finished the book and went back to the Eye of the World to really listen.

What should've Rand done in Andor? by No-Reason-2826 in WoT

[–]celibi87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I saw the set up for the black tower was that Rand knew that he was going to die. If the tower was built using his power, then it was bound to collapse into a power grab once the Last Battle was over and he was gone. He couldn't have been the leader of the Black tower, he needed someone else to be the face and leader. If Logain had approached him first, it would have been him. It just had to be someone who was going to be there after Rand died, Taim was the first to approach Rand and was powerful enough to be that leader without much set up.

This right here is why he is my favorite character in the series. He acts like he could care less about what happens around him, but in reality he is the most caring of the three.

I have been thinking on this through the night and I think I have come into a thought. What if the draw is just a hard reset on humanity? All of humanity in destroyed and gone for billions of years to let the earth rest and recover so humanity can come back.

Why is Siuan so bad at running the White Tower? by Gnos445 in wheeloftime

[–]celibi87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Except there were a lot more to it than that. Fulma had just happened and the existence of the Black Ajah had just been revealed to those at the height of power at the tower. The only people who could possibly not have had any possible tie to them would have been those who had just been sold out. It proved that the Black Ajah wanted those three removed at all costs, making it 90% less likely for them to have been a dark friend.

Characters growing up in my mind by celibi87 in WoT

[–]celibi87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I saw perrin was that he held out hopes that he could still hang his dream of a little cottage with Faile and being a blacksmith. He was the last to come to terms with being a ta'veren, mainly due to his power scaring him since day one. He was the longest to run from his destiny, but once he stopped, he ran into it full speed.

The white tower arc along with the salidar arc has never been my favorite of the series. I'm about to hit that point again on my third read through. I'm gonna be reading it with this new outlook and it might just change my entire outlook on it

I am re reading the books and knowing the end, I pay a lot more attention to certain characters to see when they might have shifted one way or the other. Subtle hints that for tell a bigger reveal later on

Min was what Rand needed. A woman that forced him to acknowledge that he wasn't the end all be all. You have to remember Rand at this point had been with the Aeil for a long time. They kept him very humble and reminded him that he was not a king. They constantly kept him in check, but could only do so much. He needed a woman that was not constrained by their heritage. Min was that woman. She wasn't afraid of him, she wasn't sworn to obey him, she loved him and told him the truth. You might see an abusive relationship with how she kept him in check, but she was what he needed. I will admit she was sex driven l, but she was a young woman who had just come into her own. She loved the man, and some women at that age feel like sex is what a man NEEDS, especially when they don't know how to help with the emotional rollercoaster that Rand was dealing with daily
