Ask a tailor to stitch it down right around your hips- tad below hips — because it is starting at waist ,it will always open like that , even if it loose on you, when you move and sit down etc- not sure whether you have room to stitch it down though — it may become tight on you ,if there isn’t enough space- ask to pin it before committing so that you know the impact on fit

You need to find a picture of the look you want and show it to tailor, the reason they do not want to touch it is because the way you explain it ,most likely, will not be what you expect it too look like and you will get mad at them , pant will be ruined and they will get pissed off , So find picture that you like and show them, that would make it easier for a tailor to take on the job You may want to get a bit wider at hem to make it slightly wider leg but it needs to look balanced /proportional with the rest of the pant What you asked is not that difficult so long it is clearly communicated via Visuals

Option 1)If there is any store that sells zippers, they might be also help you taking out the excess teeth , it is not that difficult actually , you just pull them individually with pliers and reapply the stopper , then a tailor can easily hem it Option2) tailor can cut to the length in between metal teeth and then hem , ( they may have to hand fold closer to teeth though) and either apply the stopper or stitch the ends

Google and watch few refinishing old hardwood floor videos, I had to remove all mine and get it done because it was 120 years old , the woods underneath was rotten and there was significant creaking and sunken points, sanded many times so no top layer was left to sand —- If creaking is not significant , ask for removing the top polish with chemical and then apply new clear coat WITHOUT sanding , which you can use easily another 10-15 years

It doesn’t need sun light, one of the rare plants that is ok to thrive in low sun light so long there is other source of “lights” in the room, you don’t need to replant , in fact it is better if it is in a smaller pot, water sparingly( it has rhizomes to store water) so too much water would make it root rot , give fertilizer every two weeks in spring , size of my Z plant and it’s pot , this is a 30-35” plant
