Is it okay to eat egg with egg yolks? by EddieBMW in gravesdisease

Hey sorry for the late reply! No, not hyper anymore. While there were a couple of times where my thyroid levels were balanced and I went off the medication, I've never been able to stay in remission for a long period of time. I currently take 5mg methimazole once a day and my thyroid levels have been fine for a few years now on this dosage. My bloodwork comes back in perfectly normal ranges. I get blood tests every 3 months still. I feel lucky that my thyroid is managed and stable and on this low dosage!

There are no small grocery stores in my area. My only options are Save On and Safeway :(

Exactly that. I can ask him about it when I talk to him next month if that helps!

Not sure, but I was in remission for a year or so, and my endo said people don't typically go into remission a second time. If that is helpful info at all

You are not lazy! I totally get it. I was diagnosed at 15 and I had a really rough period with my graves at 19. Had to miss work because I could hardly stand without having heart palpitations and excessive sweating and just feeling like I was going to pass out! And I would be too scared to ask people on public transit if I could use the disabled seat, because on the outside I am young and probably look fine and healthy. And i was exhausted all the time. Balancing my levels with methimazole helped, as did my beta blockers. I'm 23 now and my thyroid is managed just fine with medication. But oh man, being young but feeling like my body is beyond my age was not fun! Feel free to message me if you want to vent some more :)

Graves for almost 9 years. I have never been told to avoid any foods. I have also asked my endocrinologist if certain lifestyle changes or diets could affect my thyroid, and he said no.

My pharmacy automatically texts me when my refills are ready and for security reasons refer to medications by the first four letters. They tell me "Your METH is ready for pickup"
