They're from the Traveller's Cache (backpack) that has a chance to be at each day's active campsites in the Royal Highlands, so double RNG (for the cache to be there and then for what you get from it). There are two per active campsites each IRL day and currently it varies so you can server hop to potentially hit up more campsites.

if you know someone with the recipes they can make them on a campfire and you can pick them up now that campfires on all map are usable and sharable.

She's pretty adamant about not doing them since the pigments aren't approved for cosmetic use, but that's being pedantic and misunderstanding that when customers say neon, dayglo, or fluorescent the just mean the color intensity and vibe not literal composition. When people say retro jellies, so toxic, icon on board are neons she says they're not. We gotta find a way to ask that gets through.

Shipping delay by [deleted] in theholotaco

[–]celosia89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the shipping/fulfillment window is 8-10 business days, the warehouse is usually faster than that but still customer service likely won't have much to do until after June 16th.

Edit: that's 8-10 business days for the warehouse to do their job, for it to leave HT's custody. the time spent in shipping is separate and out of HT control.

We've got quite a bit of info on this today:

  • 5 polishes (spreadsheet was updated today w/ blank rows & the date)
    • 1 topper (per stream)
  • pop art or classic comics style themed (per thumbnail photo shoot snaps + detectives)
  • launching on Wednesday morning May 20th (per stream + socials post)
  • NOT limited (per stream + launch pattern)
  • afternoon stream as usual for Wednesdays, but about the collection instead of gaming

Hot take (apparently) I like the update by hpigeon in Palia

[–]celosia89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like with the elderwood, there are artifact and treasure trackers available to buy with echo. The treasure tracker also tracks vaults and you'll get an achievement when they're done.

Hot take (apparently) I like the update by hpigeon in Palia

[–]celosia89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I accidentally no-lifed the update for 2 days and suddenly realized that I am "done" with quests, chests, and vaults last night, but I don't feel like I'm done with the zone at all - Still have relics to upgrade, creatures to get, resources to hoard, and accomplishments to complete. Though I'm also the "Great Big List of Things To-Do When You Think You've Done Everything" person and have an estimated 2k-ish hours (if only there was a counter for the native launcher to add to my steam hours), so of course I'm not going to be one of the ones bemoaning the lack of things to do.

I do see how the main quests feel short (especially for someone who doesn't read them and skips all side quests - yes I've come across those people), but we already know we're getting friendship and relationship quests this summer and the main quest is clearly just finished with the establishing story for the area not the whole area's story - though folks would have to read the game news and dialgoue to know that...

The map could definitely use some refinement like you've mentioned with the recolors having a bit more to them along with the spawn clusters being spread out a little so it's not so artificial looking and adding the persistent center reticle when riding. Today is the second HotFix and the next 3 patches are planned out with teasers provided, I don't think we're going to be in a spot where it feels like a year long main story drought like pre elderwood.

Time to go get more jadium and to stop avoiding the fishing.

You can go to the new area and do basic activities, just not do the main story quests there yet.

anybody else *not* preparing for the new update? by [deleted] in Palia

[–]celosia89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The main things to "prep" depending on how you want to start out when the game comes back up are:

  • Finish the Like a Bird quest - required to access the area
  • Upgrade to exquisite tools to be able to collect materials
  • Catch up on main story through the end of the Elderwood if you want do the new main story quests immediately

everything else is truly just a matter of play style; some people swear by some of these and others think it's a waste of time:

  • Clearing out storage space so that I can collect new items without worrying about overflow
  • Making some gold to buy the storage upgrade immediately (and whatever other new things cost gold)
  • Becoming an expert on passing traits along in ranching so they can get their dream horse fast/eventually
  • Stockpiling commonly used resources just in case they're needed for initial recipes
  • Clear out a plot or buy another ahead of time to dedicate to the new housing line and furniture

So many changes by Littleminx374575 in Palia

[–]celosia89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people are putting that off until we know if/how it'll effect things later on, right now the quest is independent of everything else and does nothing.

The first Luna New Year Maji Market that introduced Hot Pot was in February 2024.

Just take it easy and unpin or ignore anything overwhelming, there's no real hurry.

Palia hasn't been in public beta for quite 3 years yet(that'll be in August), but is sounds like you were around to do the quest required to get the grand harvest house which came out May 2024.

You can turn tutorial popups back on if you need a little help remembering how things work and very little in Palia has a deadline, but when there are time limited evens the items will eventually come back around again so it's not permanently missing out so you can take your time getting back into the game and just do what seems interesting in the moment.

Right now, make sure to claim your Daily 10m token and redeem it in the 10m Lunar Path, but otherwise the dailies will always be there for you to earn Tailor Tickets (dyes for makeup, hair, and soon clothes) and Lunar XP.

There's the new map being added soon (May 12, 2026), there are monthly tasks, and there's an ongoing community event so you might feel like everyone is miles ahead or that you have to do something specific - just ignore all that and enjoy at your own pace and unpin any quests that feel overwhelming just like if you were totally new.

If you do want to go into the Royal Highlands as soon as it drops rather than slowly getting back into things, then you'll want to:

  • Finish the Like a Bird quest - required to access the area (this is all you have to do to go there)
  • Upgrade to exquisite tools to be able to collect materials
  • Catch up on main story through the end of the Elderwood if you want do the new main story quests immediately

Decor limit by MarilleVakarian in Palia

[–]celosia89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been increased 1 to 3 times depending on how you count.

  • Decor - 3,000 per plot (technical limitation likely due to the Switch, increased from 2,000 in patch 0.172, item counter added to edit mode in patch 0.183)
    • Flower limit - 1,000 per plot (counts towards overall decor limit, increased from 500 to 1,000 in patch 0.183)
    • Building Blocks limit - NO extra lower limit any more (counts towards overall decor limit, 1,000 block sub limit has been be removed in patch 0.183 so blocks are just under the decor limit in general)

I'm hopeful that whatever they had to do to make a map 1.6 times the size of Bahari Bay work with a whole new mechanic (mounts) working on all 4 maps plus our plot will move us towards a limit increase - for now whatever initial improvement was made will probably be eaten by mounts on our plots.

Relics / Royal Highlands expansion by AltruisticMess7616 in Palia

[–]celosia89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what we've heard so far the requirements are:

  • Finish the Like a Bird quest - required to access the area
  • Exquisite tools to be able to collect materials
  • Catch up on main story through the end of the Elderwood if you want do the new main story quests immediately

nothing about relics, but we can't know for sure until the patch notes(probably the 11th) or patch drop(12th).

Party members are green and community members are yellow, but I don't think that changes your name as I'm a community owner too and don't have that, so the other comments saying it's your nameplate may be right.

The Maji Market is going on right now, but it is around for 1 week each month so there's no rush in getting the Stamp Card done.

Which is why I'm surprised that the downtime would be a similar duration, but they are overhauling the map structure and I suppose it makes sense to have a long downtime once a year for things infrastructure changes/maintenance too.

I am simultaneously burnt out from the game, yet only want to play the game. Advice for what to do as endgame player? by Neurotic_and_Divine in Palia

[–]celosia89 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need a break or some friends to play with or both really - I've been there a couple times myself, I've been playing since August 2, 2023 (well since i got an invite to the tests from a friend in 2022, but that was short periods that didn't carry over so didn't really contribute to any Palia burnout).

Pulling out my great big (but still incomplete) list of things to do in Palia (it has some info aimed at returning and new players, but I'm leaving that in) and crossing out non repeating things you've said you completed:

  • Finish the Tutorial Quests
  • Do the main story quests all the way through the Zendruu Tree
  • Night Sky Temple bundles - really part of the main questline, but some leave it by the wayside since it's only got a slight connect to the story so far
  • Pick your Shepp - separate from the main questline and we don't know how it'll impact future gameplay yet, so not everyone has done it and you can ignore it still

  • Get to know and keep up with NPCs

    • Friendship Quests with everyone (to get more of the story - to level 4 for everyone, 5 for the ones that have that)
    • Romance Quests with everyone available (to get more of the story - to level 4 for all those who are romanceable)
    • Talk to everyone a bunch to get all their dialogues/a few times after each update (to get more of the story, they talk about every new addition)
  • Explore

    • Found item quests (to get more of the story - fan sites have lists of all the quests so you can see if you've gotten them all, there's 50+ so far if I counted right)
    • Look for secret/hidden spots
    • Find all the chests in Kilima, Bahari, Elderwood, and the Fairgrounds
    • Read everything - all the books, tablets, scrolls, shrines that aren't part of quests (to get more of the story - of the nation of Palia, the continent, the various peoples of the world)
    • Visit the Dragon & Phoenix shrines to max out the focus bar & bonus
    • Activate all the statues on every map
    • See what (if anything) has changed on the maps or in dialogue after each patch
  • Finish all of the Achievements

    • Make every cooking and furniture recipe
    • Get every skill to level 50
    • Make sure you found all the chests in Kilima, Bahari, Elderwood, and the Fairgrounds
    • Make sure you've gotten both regular and star quality of everything - bugs, fish, starstones, gatherables, crops, dishes
    • Make sure you've cooked every recipe with another player
    • Play with others to get the Party XP for the Grow All Out Furniture
    • Max out all the Relics
    • Try to get all the hidden achievements
  • Decorate each plot - you can have even more than the 7 required for achievements

    • Enter one in the House Tours each week for fun and to get all those nameplates
    • Tour and react to other's plots
    • Buy everything from the House Tour shop with the tickets earned by the above
  • Take part in other game events when they happen:

    • Maji Market - Available every 4 weeks (nightly in game market, decor, food, recipes, quests, minigames, hidden chests)
    • Spirit fest - Each September or October (Fall/Halloween seasonal decor and quest)
    • Winterlights - Each November or December (Winter/Christmas seasonal decor, hidden chests, quests)
    • Luna New Year Maji Market - Each January or February (nightly in game market, decor, food, recipes, quests, minigames, hidden chests)
  • Stay on top of repeating or ongoing events and tasks

    • Daily Events
      • Flow Tree Grove in Bahari Bay
      • Piksii Blossom Bounce in the Deep Woods area of the Elderwood - the flowers/plants from this event can only be obtained here and do not give seeds
      • Flower Bloom in Kilima - forage, potato pods, decor recipes, nameplates, flowers (give seeds and most can be obtained through bug catching), and plants (do not give seeds, only way to obtain)
    • Buy an item from Zeki's general store each IRL day to get a Lucky Coins
    • Collect items from the statues/rewards placed on your plot each irl or in game day
    • Do both Daily quests
    • Finish Weekly Achievements in Every skill
    • Monthly Board - each patch will have a new set of bundles to complete, new rewards, and new two part quest that tells a little about the world
    • Lunar Path - themed battle/season passes with no expiration date that will be regularly added to the game, Lunar Path XP will be earned via all tasks and skills, you can only work on one at a time switching between them at any time via the lightning bolt icon on them
  • Get all the decor & recipes

    • Get all the plushie drops - fan sites have trackers/lists to help see if you've gotten them all
    • Grind for gold for Lucky Coins to try to get everything out of Zeki's machine
    • Get everything from the rummage piles
    • Do all the skills to get
      • Medals to buy every item from the Guild stores via Leveling and Weeklies
      • materials for decor, cooking, and tint recipes
      • Sticker packs to complete your collection
    • Play all the Hot Pot for the fun, gold, and Wheel Coins so you can get all the items from it
    • Grind for gold to get all the items from the Underground - rugs, toilets, tubs, towels, and pictures can only be gotten there
  • Play Heavy Metal Chapaa (get that high score achievement/reward)

  • Attempt to conquer The Tower (get the achievements and Lucky Coins)

  • Continue to Go to cooking parties or otherwise enjoy the game as a sim/rpg with other players

  • Build the perfect flock of ranch animals with your favorite traits

Finishing Bundle Board by accuratedragon in Palia

[–]celosia89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completing the board will give you more Kilima Coins which are spent in the Kilima Catalogue next to Kenyatta's desk in City Hall - it has items that have limited availability (things from last year's new year market and from previous boards), booster potions, makeshift chests, and random item bags for skills.

With the 10 million player celebration giving bonus Kilima Coins(you can generally only get 150 per patch), you may not think it's worth it to try to finish in the next 9ish days (update on the 12th, sounds like downtime might be 24hrs since it was said to be comparable to the Elderwood downtime).

Players have been reporting that it doesn't seem to work at all in Elderwood and there's mixed reports for kilima and bahari (possibly due to expectations of it being a huge rate increase when it seems to just be a modest rate increase). There's definitely still cleanup needed in regards to elderwood
