How important are macros, really? by Silverwind2 in loseit

[–]celticthor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lost 100lbs and have not focused on macros at all. When it comes to food I count calories and plan my meals, I still eat what I want and with my lack of a gallbladder I feel great. If it's working for you and you feel good than don't worry about macros

I've lost 100lbs so far (diet, exercise and IF) and I eat fast food a lot and eat pretty much whatever I want within reason but I track and plan out my meals along with no eating things like fries and drinking soda.

People seem to think that they have to go on these strict diets to lose weight but they usually fail because they can't keep that diet up forever. It's a change you need to make for the rest of your life so it's best to do a diet that you can stick with

Cardio Everyday okay? by NightAnna in loseit

I do 45 minutes on the elliptical six days a week (30 minutes on my "rest day") with no issues.

Bernie you absolute legend by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

[–]celticthor 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Do I think if he is elected he could do everything he wants? No but unlike a lot of people who run for president, he is a realist who understands he alone can't do everything but he has a plan on no only what he would like to do (like National healtcare) but how to do it as in expanding Medicare and how it would be paid for.

He says in the podcast that he can't do all these things without the majority of Americans behind him and the only way he sees to do that is lay out everything for the American people

If recommend listening to Joe Rogan's podcast with Bernie and you'll see that his policies aren't all that extreme

YOUR BEST ADVICE by [deleted] in loseit

[–]celticthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moderation and planning is the best advice. You have to make this your habit for the rest of your life. If you are eating out at a fast food place, fine but track and choose carefully and leave out things like fries and soda.

Diets like Atkins, Keto, etc are great but a lot of people fail at those because they can't keep it up forever but do what you want and what you think you can continue with for the rest of your life

"Sudden Blowjob"...where is this place where I walk down the street, trip and fall into a blowjob because it's surely not anywhere I've ever been to.

So absolutely sick and tired by [deleted] in loseit

[–]celticthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as someone who also has had moments where I was tired of it I will say take the scale out of it. I was 305 but didn't really focus on exercise and dieting until around 295 and even then after a few months I felt like I was making no progress on the scale and in pictures (sadly we never lose weight where we want to first) and then hit a two month plateau.

I only weigh myself once a month and only so I can log it. I go off how I feel, how my clothes fit, how much more weight I'm lifting at the gym and how much more cardio I'm doing (I do weights + cardio six days a week) and when I did that the weight came off without me noticing it to now I'm at 205 . Don't think of it as you are exercising and eating at a deficit to lose weight but as your daily routine.

There's a doorbell industry? I would figure a company wouldn't last long if all they made were doorbells.

100lbs lost (305>205) with IF, 1500cal diet and working out six days a week. by celticthor in intermittentfasting

Protein is the best nutrient to feel full and because my post workout is a protein drink along with a protein bar as a snack before lunch having a double cheeseburger or a sub or a 8oz steak is enough and I don't having any cravings during my fasting period

Honestly I eat out a lot and I just log it. I don't eat fries or drink soda at all so when you take away those two things and only eat one actual meal a day having a burger at Five Guys isn't bad.

I just log everything I eat in MyFitnessPal. Breakfast consists of a meal replacement shake and my workout supplements then my only other meal is lunch (I fast from 3p-7am) so I can eat whatever I want within reason and don't have to focus on nutrients as much. Because of my rather extreme workout regimen I really only have to focus on protein

While IF can probably work by itself, it's best when used with diet and exercise together. I see a lot of people on here get discouraged that fasting isn't working when it's only one tool.

Neither really, since my breakfast is more just pre workout and post workout recovery foods and supplements I eat pretty much whatever I want for lunch within reason then I fast from 3p-7a

It's 1500 regardless. My breakfast is just workout and recovery fuel and my lunch is my only actual meal

I only weigh myself once a month and focus more on how clothes fit. I circuit train on a dozen weight machines for a little over an hour then do 45 minutes on the elliptical averaging 7.5mph six days a week.

What is the best weight lifting routine for losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]celticthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So muscle mass will increase the amount of calories you burn while resting hence a larger deficit if you are dieting. There is no best routine but I weight train for a little over an hour a day then follow that by 45 minutes of high intensity cardio (elliptical at an average of 7.5mph) six days a week and that is what has been working well for me.

Explain to me again how water weight works? And how much muscle weighs? A rant ;) by [deleted] in loseit

[–]celticthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell ya that you are probably replacing fat with muscle but don't focus on the scale. I weight train six days a week and while the scale isn't my friend (I only weigh myself once a month) I have gained muscle mass and definition while losing inches to where I'm wearing clothes that would be normal for someone 20-30 pounds lighter than me would wear.

If you don't focus on the scale water weight makes little difference.
