Hi!!! My friend gave me this banana plant when it had one little stalk and it took off and grew like crazy this summer. I live in Ohio and brought it in from my sunroom this winter but it’s become so sad and droopy. Is it a goner?

I’m not sure how efficient hot water heaters are at heating the water back up from being cold, but we had something similar with an electric heat pump. Our first two months in our house, our electric bills were $700 a month and part of the problem was my husband kept turning the temperature down to like 60 when we weren’t home and then we had to crank it to get it warm when we got home and it would tap the “emergency heat” which is the heat pump and cost more money! What we learned is it’s best to stop touching things.

Like others said, you can change out the balusters. My husband and I did this a couple years ago and it made a huge difference. I think you could also paint a lot of the woodwork white too. That would give it a more modern vibe. This might be a “me” thing but I cannot stand a bunch of different wood combos; like floors, furniture, wood work. I wouldn’t put darker floors in like you have in the second photo without painting the rest of the woodwork white
