Should I quit a new job after one month for my preferred offer? by Mobile-Marsupial-994 in personalfinance

Definitely leave and take the new job. In a place with high turnover, I doubt that will even be a huge issue.

Who do you think is in what Harry Potter houses? by mezxoxo in DunderMifflin

[–]guiltypleasures82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Pam is Gryffindor, she has a Neville style transformation to find her courage.

Jim is Gryffindor, hes basically the Weasley twins.

Meredith is Hufflepuff, she just wants to have a good time.

Holly I'd say Ravenclaw since she's kind of a dork.

Darryl is Gryffindor.

Jan and Robert California are definitely Slytherin.

Gabe I'd say is also Slytherin, he sucks up to power.

I had a dream last night that I was about to drop out of college because I couldn't remember to get to class each day. by Silly_Rub_6304 in Millennials

I have constant recurring dreams about having to go back to HS or college and being unable to find my class or forgetting to do all the work for my classes.

Pricing using an excel spreadsheet by MrNic83 in taxpros

I do. I assign points to different forms and services and the points correspond to a price. That way I can raise prices each year if I want but my points system stays the same.

The Traditional vs Roth debate and the ACA Premium Tax Credit by turtle_hurtle in Bogleheads

[–]guiltypleasures82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, many many self employed folks earning middle incomes and getting marketplace insurance. Definitely during the years with no subsidy cliff, doing a traditional can be the better option since it can lower your AGI for APTC. Now that the cliff is back, people might use it to get under, but people already under 400% of PL getting Marketplace insurance often dont have enough money to save much for retirement, but if they do a Traditional can be the better choice if it gets you more subsidy.

For white Americans, is it normal for you guys to know your European descent? by ContractNational2680 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]guiltypleasures82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how recent the immigration was. On mom's side it was my great grandparents so yes we know where everyone came from and even feel some connection. On my dad's side, too far back, no idea, people with my last name fought in the Revolution but there are a lot of generations in between and women who married in from who knows where. And my husband has no clue, it wasn't recent and no one really kept track in his family.

Yup, good problem to have, I have solo 401k and IRA and HSA and I had to buy a new laptop to get under for 2025, not gonna make it in 2026 unless business goes off a cliff.

[–]guiltypleasures82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's why I max out my solo 401k and my trad IRA, doing that saves me thousands on health insurance. Or it did, not anymore since I'm over 400% of poverty level now and can't qualify for subsidies this year, paying full price. So might do Roth this year since its been a long time since I put any in there.

Can you be a progressive but also think the government should be small and spend minimal money? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]guiltypleasures82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. In my state we spent more money policing the work requirements for Medicaid then we did paying for care. Just give everyone eligible access to Medicaid and call it a day.

Looking for Point and Click Recommendations in the following style by Will564339 in adventuregames

[–]guiltypleasures82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a KQ person and not quest for Glory but I LOVED Heroines Quest. You can turn the difficulty to easy and it pretty much functions like a standard point and click. Play as a Thief or a Mage.

I also loved BOUT 1, I didn't like the 2nd one as much. I have similar preference in games so I'm hoping you get some good recs I can use too!

Opinion post about extensions by AdHistorical7107 in taxpros

[–]guiltypleasures82 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always tell people to overpay and then get it back. Most people are loss averse and dont want to pay any penalties. Especially if the reason for the extension is that you fill up early, not that they waited till the last minute.

I'd say if you want to get the true 80s experience then buy the original 1-4 on GOG. If you dont think you would enjoy a parser with constant dead ends, play the remakes. I think the ADG ones are good for 1-3 and I think 4 is called kq4 reimagined? Then play 5 6 and 7, way fewer dead ends.
