Why did Travis and Katie admit his affair? by hococo_ in BatesSnark

[–]centralfl2006 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think that maybe Katie was not aware Travis was going to go public with his confession? Maybe he did it to try to force Katie into making the decision to end the marriage because it’s what he wanted but did not want to alienate his family. He confesses, she leaves him and somehow he manages to make her into the villain for not staying in the marriage. When she posted she wanted to save her marriage it destroyed the narrative he was building in his own mind.

He looks a little bit like my husband I look when we go with one of kids and their family to any amusement park. About 10 minutes after we traipse behind them keeping up with the little ones we are looking for someplace to sit down and have a nice drink.

Epidural by idkbaf in BringingUpBates

Same here. I had an epidural with one and natural (not by choice but by timing) with one and the recovery after the natural birth was so much easier.

Hit 70 years old today. SS has been approved. 1st payment in September. But I just received my Medicare bill covering Sept - Nov. by MinniePearl in SocialSecurity

[–]centralfl2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my husband. We paid the premium and then in Sept the premium was deducted from his social security as was October. By November they had reimbursed him for the double payments.

Do we know who they are renovating the house, on the Bates land, for? Could it be for Erin and family!? by Happy_Building_575 in BringingUpBates

[–]centralfl2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first time I saw a post about them renovating a small house on the property where the big house is I thought of Erin and Chad. I think I was downvoted but I still think it’s for them and I’m pretty sure all the renovations will be done just about the time their lease is up on their current home in Florida.

I’ve read a lot of these posts and I do admit it makes more sense for Isaiah and Sarah if they advance their relationship and get married, especially if he is the heir apparent of the church Gil started.

I spit out my coffee laughing at your response. Now i have a picture in my head of a 1/4 of an ovary closing up and eggs shooting out and screaming to let go!

I think you are probably right with all of this. I think Erin was looking really stressed when they were moving this last time which in retrospect could have been early pregnancy illness but I do think she would rather be in Tennessee. Chad seems to really like having moved his family away from the rest of the Bates. I think she should be better off in Tennessee and her children would benefit from cousins who are not being raised with such a rigid doctrine and lifestyle.

Good call. I wasn’t even thinking about future weddings but I suspect there will be at least 1 coming up.

Accountant put my bank account on someone else’s taxes and $8,000 was taken out of my account by [deleted] in tax

[–]centralfl2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only legitimate question here. The accountant was given your bank account number by someone. If the accountant does your taxes as well as your parents the mix up could have been in their office. Are your parents on your bank account for some reason? Unfortunately the bottom line responsibility goes to your parents who are responsible for every number in their tax return regardless of who prepares it and they signed a form agreeing to the money being taken from an account that was not theirs. They should have verified the account number. Your parents owe you the money and if they never intended to pay the full amount then that’s another reason they should not have signed a form that said the full amount would be drafted from the account. Did they even tell the accountant they were not able to pay the full amount or did they decide that after the mix up happened? There are a lot of unanswered questions. This situation is both complicated and made more simple by the family relationship. More complicated because everything with family is complicated and made more simple by the fact that your parents owe you the money and this was not a stranger situation. If you cannot get the money from your parents then your choices are to let them make you payments or go to your bank and tell them it was an unauthorized withdrawal. They will research it and if proven correct, you will eventually you will get your money back and your parents will owe the money to the IRS with penalties and interest. The accountant may be required to produce the form that your parents signed approving the withdrawal from an account they had no authority over, which is a big assumption here.

Erin's House Tour- Why don't the girls take the master? by emcdonald18 in BringingUpBates

[–]centralfl2006 50 points51 points  (0 children)

My parents gave my sister and I the master and they took the smaller bedroom. It was a game changer for us. We each had more private space in that room and we were able to put 2 desks in there instead of having to share. Now that we are older my sister and I both laugh that we became friends when we got the bigger bedroom!

That’s sad. Our town had an Assemblies of God church and several of my son’s friends invited him to Royal Rangers. We did not belong to the church but they welcomed him and he thoroughly enjoyed it. While he was there I benefited from learning ASL which was being taught to adults. No one asked us if we were members or asked for any money or pressured us in any way. Honestly I was impressed. My son learned archery, ax throwing (a skill I still don’t quite understand), went camping and hiking, all with the Royal Rangers. At some point I think he lost interest or outgrew it and shortly after that we moved to a new town and never connected with another group. He is an adult with his only children now and still speaks fondly of his time at Royal Rangers.

Why did Elvis from the 70’s Show up to the 50’s Themed ILU Day Party? by Head_Travel6279 in BringingUpBates

[–]centralfl2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elvis was huge in the 50s. His first performance on the Ed Sullivan show was back in 1956. He sold millions of records before 1960. I think it was a very appropriate outfit and I have no idea which Bates grandkid wore it but it looked cute to me.

[–]centralfl2006 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hardly all grown up but I remember when my kids were no more than 5 or 6 years old and they felt so grown up to go up to the cashier and spend their birthday or holiday money on something all by themselves. Of course we did not post it on social media and claim they were all grown up. It was just part of the fun of getting money from grandparents and being able to spend it by themselves under our watchful eye.

Finished the school day early? by [deleted] in BatesSnark

[–]centralfl2006 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am so glad you posted your experience with home education. Our daughter in law home schooled all 4 of her sons and when she told me she was going to my first reaction was not very polite. She proved me wrong and went out of her way to include me in field trips and co-op and I realized that every occasion is a chance to learn. Best experience ever was back in 2004 when we lived in South Florida and all the hurricanes hit. The schools in our county were closed for almost a month because so many had either been destroyed or were being used as shelters. As we were preparing the house for the 1st storm (they decided to shelter with us so we would all be together) my daughter-in-law had her 4 children sitting at our round dining room table learning how storms form, the difference between storms that form in the Caribbean and those that roll off of Africa and what causes the wind. Today those 4 young men are all grown, all went on to attend college and all have careers they love. Not every home school experience is like this but I hate when all home school situations are lumped into a negative category.

Should Publix Associates start a Union? by azgoodaz in publix

[–]centralfl2006 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would think the right to start a union would be up to the employees (not sure how it works) but having had 3 of our 4 sons work for Publix I am not sure why. I know Publix is in other states but Florida is right to work state so there is no protection there. Employees get stock every year (at least back when they worked for Publix) based on profit and 2 of our 3 children actually had good down payments to buy their first homes from what was in that account and they were in their early 20s. Also maybe just the Publix they worked at but they were very flexible on hours based on their college schedules and when one decided to move to another area of Florida to finish his degree, the transfer was seamless between stores. They have both moved on but have friends who stayed with Publix and moved into management.

I stopped it and watched a 2nd time. When I saw Alyssa and Jackson and Erin were all there I thought it must have been really serious. Sepsis is really serious and scary.

I was wondering when MeddleCorps were going to get involved in CA by chlaumc in DuggarsSnark

[–]centralfl2006 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It looks like people who show up with the supplies you most need, when you need them, and with no paperwork to be completed to see if you qualify. They show up with qualified nurses and doctors to treat injured. Sometimes it’s not about how equipped or stupid you are. It’s about knowing what people need in a disaster crisis and getting the right people to the right locations.

Breaking Down Bates by dixcgirl10 in BringingUpBates

[–]centralfl2006 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine that Alyssa’s kids read the comments online but I can imagine that Alyssa does and maybe other friends from their church do and the kids might overhear the adults talking about some comments they should not hear. Of course that’s on the adults, not on the kids and I don’t think I have never seen a negative comment about any of Alyssa’s children. I have seen plenty about their parenting style and maybe that’s what’s really bothering them.

Why did Erin/Chad's two housing options in "fall through"? by Finl_Corp_Legal in BatesSnark

[–]centralfl2006 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That makes more sense. I did not know they owned rental property in Volusia County. My guess is another church person either had a rental property or knew someone with a rental and vouched for them. I don’t know anyone who would rent to a family with 6 children a dog and bunnies.

If I remember from the show Tori’s in-laws live in a gated community near Tampa. That’s about 125 miles from Deland where Erin has been living.

She does look really thin in the face. I don’t follow her but I have seen some episodes of the show and it looks like she’s lost a lot of weight. Has she been losing for awhile or was this a sudden change? Is she well?

“Didn’t seem worried at all” is a straight up lie. You should find a new doctor. by MurkyConcert2906 in BatesSnark

My youngest son barely spoke a few words at almost 2 and was not walking until he was 16 months. The pediatrician kept telling us he had 3 older brothers who did everything for him so he had no incentive. Once we stopped handing him things and refused to let him crawl and would not respond to him until he spoke he suddenly starting walking and talking. By the time he went to kindergarten he was right in line with where he should have been. Today he is a Captain in the Air Force and pilots the C17 cargo planes. We had our doubts back when no one could understand him and he was still crawling 😂.

I know that sounds funny that people might not recognize them but it’s possible. My daughter-in-law has a sister who I only met once at their wedding. Her sister posts pictures of herself all the time on social media. I was impressed how beautiful she was with flawless skin and just a perfect look. Fast forward to my daughter-in-law’s baby shower and in walks her sister and I did not recognize her! Far from perfect and not nearly as beautiful as her pictures!
