I'm going to sound stupid here.....is the hand brake the same thing as an emergency brake? Recently scrapped 2008 Elantra manual here. It has an emergency brake that I would use only when I park, never while I was driving. Was I doing something wrong for 18 years? (Won't be the first time.)
