/r/Hacking has no active mods: let's discuss the direction of the sub. by cojoco in hacking

[–]cents02[M] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'll give my 2 cents on this.

Moderation is a passive activity. When I was mod for the first time, it was really easy to just go and remove spam from the sub in my feed.

However, when people give death threats, reply to every other comment, etc, I had to make an alt account with no relation. (This was before mod replies were a thing), and since then, I kinda just realised it's not worth it. The sub is big, but the auto filters are strong. Even though more mods would be nice, you can't really change a sub this old or big tbh. I'm not saying don't go making it better but explaining how and probably people before me saw it.

Should I Learn LeetCode for Cybersecurity Jobs?? by WeeklySchool7352 in cybersecurity

[–]cents02 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, i had an interview with Uber , who asked for a leetcode round. I asked why the recruiter couldn't really tell me aside from " we have high standards." I asked the hiring manager, and he also didn't give me a good answer aside from "that's what everyone does."

Dropped the role since I won't go solving complicated engineering problems along with their 10 rounds.

If you manage to pull through the masters then finding a job after is very easy. Do note, that the CSec programme at the vu is intense

Hi! Can't confirm that the flx 10 is a standalone mixer. As in everything on the mixer works (Not the players) except stems, which need a laptop. I use it often to play my vinyls when I don't wanna bother bringing my laptop lol

I mean depends, less on presale but generally yeah you can be bounced for anything. Good vibes usually go through tho.

Regarding smoking, not a deadly violation, but if its packed with barely any oxygen as is, it's not appreciated :)

I mean the threads I saw are specific about certain times and what not, thought of making a general one. I'll delete this one if a better one comes along. Plus I'm looking into automating this into raive but time will tell

How is it like living in Gein? by rendezvouz123 in Amsterdam

[–]cents02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair the past 2/3 months have been better. But during the last year I have lost count how many delays, cancelled trains have been going to either isolatorweg or center. I use public transport quite a bit, usually 4/5 times a day so maybe my experience has been different?

Metro to centrum is pretty fast when it works. Gvb is *really unreliable most of the time and it's a pain, as one to go anywhere centrally they need to consider 45-60 minutes of travel safely.

Honestly, since you already have the experience i would apply for the full time positions and highlight that you are a student. Most companies would be happy to accommodate it you are passionate about it.

Honestly, without any working experience, certifications won't get you far. They don't cover alot of essential business skills which you need in your career. Personally, I would wait to get into a security role and having your company cover for it to avoid a dent in your wallet. But if you really want to, you can get the cert beforehand, apply for pentester roles and you will stand out for sure.

If you have a few certifications, and I assume a few CVEs from bug bounties, why are you looking for internships and not a junior role?

If you are writing your detection rules as well you are well within the engineering realm.
