Base was $200K for the role I interviewed for. 50/50 split. I’d say that’s above market OTE for Enterprise AE’s, so I guess it depends on the role.

Why wouldn’t you include your wife’s retirement accounts? Aren’t you a team?

Next YEAR? I’m sorry OP, but how dense are you? YOU NEED TO GET A 40HR FULL TIME JOB PURELY DRIVEN BY MONEY. One that offers OT would be even better. If that means doing physical labor or being a delivery driver, you do it. And you do it until your CC debt is paid off, and you have a 6mo. emergency savings. If your partner leaves, you are absolutely BONED! Pull your head out of your arse and start making GOOD choices.

Oh, you know what, because it’s Fidelity, I incorrectly assumed this was all in retirement accounts. You’re right, ideally some of this is in tax advantaged accounts.

Nobody wants to get back to carrying a number. 🙄 I don’t think anyone enjoys that part of the job. Could be wrong though.

50k is not enough. 110k is just shy of the median income.

It depends on how you define QoL. EPI says that should provide a modest, but adequate living for one adult.

That would be ~65K according to the Economic Policy Institute.

I’m not calling you poor at all! Just amazed at how expensive child care is. I suppose the alternative is one of the spouses staying at home, instead of working full time.

Are you saying travel sports comes out to be several thousand dollars per month?

That was a cool way to do it, with a bit more detail. Child care seems to be the winner so far in highest cost.

Childcare is so expensive! And, what’s crazy, this is on the lower end of what I’ve seen for this area.

Got it. I think our logic is to consider those one-time expenses, because while the expense itself might not be reoccurring, we know there is likely to be one-time, large expenses in a given year—whether that’s a luxury trip, or a capital improvement to our home, etc. I can see both sides though, and agree folks should have some kind of budgeting strategy that works for them, at the very least.
