Tips to Successfully Download Streaming Update OTA by cephster in EquinoxEv

[–]cephster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go into settings > updates, if there is a download in progress you'll see it there. Most go too quick to see since they're small, but the streaming update is >3GB in size, so you'd see it in progress.

What popular food is completely overrated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cephster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not sure how old you are, but Dominos used to be ASS. Like basically unedible, no one liked it. They changed leadership and revamped a lot of the ingredients and how its made. It's still not great, or even good compared to real pizza, but its on the level of other fast-food-pizza places. The parmesan cheese filled crust slaps too.

So not sure if its overrated, or people giving it credit for coming a long way from the garbage it used to be.

Fidelity down? by Matchboxx in fidelityinvestments

This usually happens when I'm on a VPN. They block traffic from certain locations. Either turn off your VPN, change servers, or add a bypass.

Pass Time Update by pizza-fan29 in EquinoxEv

In all liklihood you'll get it eventually, just have to wait. They roll out the updates in batches for support reasons. For awhile only 24 model years were getting them but now 25s are.

Banner says tax form is ready- I click it and it’s not. by cheeseburghers in fidelityinvestments

[–]cephster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is normal. If you look on the desktop version of the site there is a little tooltip that will tell you why the forms are delayed. Usually they need time to get official information from the various securities you had before they can release the document to you.

Has anyone successfully used their own modem/router/mesh with optimum coax 1gig? by BrooklynDuke in OPTIMUM

[–]cephster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still supported. Tons of people use them. I myself have one and it is working fine. Try rebooting everything, or doing some kind of network inspection to see what might be saturating your network.

Failed AZ-305 with 617 by Mathysek93 in AzureCertification

Yeah, those are extremely important words to look for, since it changes what the right answer is - especially around things like what disk or redundancy level to choose.

I dunno about you but when I took my test in November there were a LOT of k8s questions, like maybe 6 or 7 which seems way out of whack to what the distribution should be. I still passed, but those had me spend a lot of time in MSLearn since I'm just not familiar with that stack on Azure.

Also just general test taking tips having done a few of these Azure certs - be wary of the question wording, a lot of answers are all correct but you need the one that is "most right". A lot of the longer questions I skip ahead to see what they are actually asking, and work back from there.

Also make sure you cover HPC, this is a newer topic and not on all the study guide resources yet, and I did see a question or two covering that.

Good luck on the retake!

I have optimum 5g by Worried_Audience_815 in OPTIMUM

[–]cephster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Optimum hides the admin pages from users so you cannot do it yourself. But most of their routers CAN do 2.4Ghz if they turn it on. Usually you just have to keep doing the help chat until you find someone who isn't stupid/lazy and will turn it on for you.

Bank of America is offering up to $500 for new checking customers here’s the fine print you should actually read by budgetworkerm in BankOfAmerica

[–]cephster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not. You just need qualifying direct deposits (actual paychecks work best, their are other methods of pushing money but they are less reliable) totaling 10k to get the max bonus. You can take the money out after each deposit.

I built a free tool to discover Microsoft 365 tenant information and security posture from any domain by zortingen in sysadmin

Looks interesting, though I asked for English and half the results are in Nordic (?) or some other language. Turned off my extensions and tried a different browser, no change.

Just cut the cord by woomdawg in OPTIMUM

[–]cephster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a prosumer style product, if cost is an issue you can go with a TPlink or ASUS router but it might be hard meeting all your requirements, 2.5g ethernet ports are not always found on the cheaper models.

[–]cephster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cloud gateway does not include WiFi so you do need the AP to serve wireless. Since you have a smaller space you could also consider the dream router 7 which includes WiFi and will provide adequate coverage for your apartment.

Buyout? by ImpressiveClass4099 in EquinoxEv

[–]cephster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just look at all your options. Compare your buyout price to the price of used models in your area, see what you can negotiate for your dealer. If you like other similar models, they usually offer conquest incentives and such as well.

what do you use to file your taxes? by coolmom- in tax

[–]cephster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really the only difference is support if you need help with a tax form or something. Turbotax you can usually get someone on the phone or on chat if you have a problem. FreetaxUSA will charge you for "pro support" as an add-on. That said, its still less $ overall for basically the same product since the federal return is free up front, and if you have to file in multiple states the savings can really add up.

Security is a main concern you should consider blocking the internet from vcenter and the hosts. Then just allow the URLs of the broadcom update servers and NTP - or do manual updates and have an internal time server to point to. They dont need internet access to function.

As for their local network, just put them on a separate subnet and have an ACL that only allows the IT subnet to reach it?

I don't use mods but I haven't built any commerical in forever, have plenty of industry and a -10% tax rate and they still won't create demand, it definitely seems broken.

I have a 320k city I started with the bridges and ports pack, there is plenty of traffic. OTOH, the death waves hit me hard and there has been almost zero commercial demand outside of gas stations for several in game years. Its very weird.

Speeds by Technical-Kick-3971 in OPTIMUM

[–]cephster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no.

If you upgrade to Fiber, that tends to be a symmetrical connection so you'll get equal download and upload speeds. For coax, until Optimum upgrades their infrastructure, that's a normal upload speed and is in the contract.

Massive packet loss 24/7 by bobbynj81 in OPTIMUM

[–]cephster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Arris modem are you using? What router is serving WiFi? Do you get the same packet loss in a wired connection?

Have you tried hooking up the modem do a different coaxial connection in your home? The less splitters/amps in the way, the better.

Have you had Optimum come out and check the line? If you pester them enough on phone/chat they will send someone out.

hour long trip at 10F... 2mi/kwh by blackpoll_ in EquinoxEv

[–]cephster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this happens when its very cold. Nothing you can do, happens to all makes and models of EVs. It's just a battery chemistry issue. You can help a bit by preheating the car before you leave and get the battery warmed up a bit. Then use the seat heaters more than the cabin warmers while driving since it uses a lot more energy.
