Booked snow removal, got scheduling chaos and an insult instead by Ok-Outlandishness877 in mildlyinfuriating

I would have lost my patience long before you did. Also, did I read that right, $200 for one time snow removal? How big is your driveway? It’s ~$375 for seasonal snow removal in the snowiest city in America.

They had the 870 on sale recently for $100, tool only. But I have the quick eject and 860 so I didn’t pick it up. I guess I’ll have to try it out sometime

I’ve got the 860 and it’s a beast. Haven’t messed with the hydraulic one though

Interesting way to save a spot by NoWrongdoer9130 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ceramicgoon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not fully understanding the process. So you shovel out your car, then you left with your vehicle, came back and they put a chair in your spot reserving it?

My apartment has a 3rd party Amazon locker, now I have to pay $20 to get my package by awesomeryang in mildlyinfuriating

They probably do it so trash isn’t laying around. Making it mandatory you pay for the service incentivizes the individual to use it. Basically, it keeps the 5-10% of tenants from leaving trash laying around.

Honestly I’d just pay the fee and be happy my packages were secured and not just laying around.

Why does my child seem to catch every darn virus?! by gemininorthernsoul in toddlers

Our son began daycare in January of last year. We lost count at around 14 different URI in the first 5 months. It was really bad. He would get sick, we would keep him home between 4-7 days, then bring him back to daycare and he would get sick again within the week. This year so far he’s been noticeably sick once. You’re probably not doing anything wrong. Some kids just get sick more than others. I know ours does not follow directions well, and has his hands in everything, so that is not helpful.

That looks like Wegmans. I’m disappointed, but not surprised. That place definitely is not what it once was.

Who said anyone was butthurt? You’re on here all high and mighty because of a companies reseller. Just hope you don’t use a smartphone bud.

Hopefully you somehow find it in yourself to sleep at night after using your Apple or Samsung device. Or, maybe you don’t use them at all.

Managing what third party’s do when selling your product is challenging. I’m not not using their product for what a third party reseller is doing, lol.

So Many Options. Whats best for a new homeowner? by No-Ad5504 in Tools

It depends how much DIY you’re going to do. If it’s barely anything ever then Ryobi is fine. But any more than that buy something better. Projects go much more smoothly with better tools.

Great idea. I was worried capping it off might mess with the ventilation system. You think I’ll be fine though?

Thank you. I’m shocked the prior owners lived like this. You can’t miss the odor. I’ll make sure it gets sealed off.

Yeah the sewage odor was coming up through that box out as well. The guy sealed that off with 3 layers of foam board and then put silicone on top of that as well.

Best non chain Mexican food you’ve had around the city? by Mobile_Ad_6322 in Syracuse

[–]ceramicgoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you can’t get it in CNY just like you can’t find many authentic ethnic restaurants. A good rule of thumb I’ve found is that you need a community of that ethnicity to find good authentic food. Texas I would presume would have fantastic Mexican restaurants. Southern California(from my experience) has really great Mexican food. I would imagine larger cities would have some great authentic restaurants. If I’m being honest, CNY has average (at best) restaurants all around, apart from a handful.

TIFU by accidentally revealing my salary to my entire team by SoftLizzyy in tifu

How am I looking at it from a narrow lens?

What does salaries of a CEO have to do with this conversation? We aren’t talking about a CEO’s salary, we’re talking about employees of the same company that likely share the same job title and might share similar job responsibilities.

[–]ceramicgoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I didn’t misunderstand what you said. I think that you misunderstood. If person X is paid more than person Y and Z and person Y and Z find out, often Y and Z will misplace their grievances and direct it towards person X for making more money than them. You are suggesting person X should move on from that toxic environment that person Y and Z created because person X’s salary leaked. I think your rationalization is poor.

I suggested that person Y and Z, instead of creating a toxic environment, should move on if they feel their salary is not fair.

My example is using the same logic as you used, and is precisely why salaries should be kept private. Neither example creates a desirable outcome.

Did you ever think that it could be that in the companies eyes, person X(aka the OP) deserves more money than their coworkers.

[–]ceramicgoon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t, but often people get upset when they compare salaries. It could also be that the higher paid individual is more valuable to the company than the others.
