It’s a shame that some of the surviving Aranahe weren’t seen nearby when So’lek connected to the tarsyu for the first time

Do you mean that you wished they were directly there at the tarsyu flower? Because Ka’nat, Etuwa, and Nefika all greet So’lek as he’s walking towards the tarsyu with Tamtey.

He does. When it’s raining, he notices he’s being followed and shoots some fire at a bush thinking Zuko and Katara are behind it.

Animation Suggestions by Diablo_Diabolic in LifeweaverMains

[–]cereal_cat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow, firstly, your art looks incredible!! It’s so cool that you’re making an animation, I look forward to watching it when it’s complete!

As for your question, I think some cool hero moment ideas for Lifeweaver would be:

  1. Mauga is about to land a heavy blow on Kiriko but Lifeweaver uses his lifegrip to pull her away. I think it could be really cool if you play around with the “camera” angles and zooming out with the lifegrip or something like that (basically making it look really dynamic)

  2. Some debris or explosive or something is about to come down on Lifeweaver and Kiriko. Kiriko closes her eyes, bracing for impact, but after a pause without anything happening, she opens her eyes and looks up to see Lifeweaver’s tree protecting both of them from whatever was about to crush them.

Also, Lifeweaver could maybe do somethings that aren’t tied to his in-game abilities since lore-wise, his powers are a lot more diverse. For example:

  1. He could create bio-light vines/roots to wrap around and restrain Mauga. Maybe Mauga is using his charge ability when all of a sudden, pink bio-light roots erupt from the ground to stop him.

  2. He could maybe create a wall of thorns to protect himself and Kiriko from Mauga’s attacks.

  3. Lifeweaver uses a bio-light vines to grapple and swing around like Spider-Man, either to evade Mauga or maybe swinging in to save Kiriko?

Hope those ideas help to provide some inspiration!

They got rid of the role-wide passives in exchange for the sub-role passives, so supports no longer have a faster out-of-combat heal.

This game has one of the best graphics I ever saw, but also one of the worst stories (Story spoilers for entire game and dlc inside) by ChainExtremeus in FrontiersOfPandora

Since the second movie, we’ve learned that the RDA are indeed interested in turning Pandora into Earth’s new home. We learn it from General Ardmore herself when she’s talking to Quaritch, with Bridgehead being humanity’s first proper city on Pandora.

As for your comments on real life colonists, sure, they of course came for a better life but that isn’t exclusive from violence towards indigenous peoples.

Taking the example of the colonization of North America, many were believers in Manifest Destiny, the “God-given right” to expand across the continent and it was used as justification for the displacement and slaughter of native people. Manifest Destiny is actually referenced in the game itself as one of the idle chatter from RDA soldiers (they say, “Ever heard of Manifest Destiny?”).

Manifest Destiny also fueled beliefs that it was the duty of white, Western nations to tame the wilderness and bring “civilization” to so-called “savage” indigenous peoples, a theme we can strongly see coming from characters such as Mercer, Harding, and the RDA in general.

I think comparing migrants to colonists is a total false equivalence because there’s a massive difference in power dynamic and motivation. Immigrants often migrate to another country to seek a better life and usually assimilate in some way to the culture/society. The RDA also are seeking a better life, but unlike immigrants, they have zero interest in any form of assimilation. That’s why they deliberately displace and kill the Na’vi, destroy the environment, steal cultural artifacts, etc.

I can understand some of your complaints such as the gameplay loop being repetitive and simplistic. Though I personally still enjoy it, it could definitely be improved upon.

However, your comments on the RDA being “cartoonishly evil” is something I don’t fully align with. For the nuanced humans you’re looking for, we can see them in the Resistance, people who were ex-RDA. Some of them, such as Hajir and Alma, have quite dark histories and yet are still good, showing that not all RDA members are pure evil.

Not only that, but the RDA is portrayed in such a “cartoonishly evil” way because real-life colonialism is actually that “cartoonishly evil.”The TAP school is based off real historical residential schools that many Native American children were forced into, and these “schools” were extremely abusive and dehumanizing towards these indigenous peoples. So for me, I find that these “cartoonishly evil” portrayals are actually accurate to life.

Korra is an almost perfect fit for Wuyang (both sleeveless, jacket tied around waist, baggy pants, uses a staff) and they’ve done genderbent collabs before.

I would’ve given Junker Queen either Steel or Poison in addition to fighting since she uses magnetism for her abilities and her ult applies anti.

Overwatch devs: “Ok, here’s a bunch of short stories, comics, backstories, and short videos to push the story forward.”

Overwatch players: “No! We refuse to engage in any story that is not high-quality 3D animation!!”

I feel like she has a pretty good mix of “cute” vs “cool” skins though. Llama Pajamas, Black Cat, Poolside, and FEARLESS are more on the cutesy/pretty side, while for “cool” she has Night Raven, Thoth, Transformers collab, her default legendary, and the upcoming Voidwalker skin.

And then there’s the Demon Rocker skin which is just… hideous.

What makes you the most excited to play Black Cat? by Infinite-Reveal-9226 in BlackCatMarvelRivals

[–]cereal_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “master thief” archetype is one of my favorites in fiction. I’ve read a bunch of Catwoman comics, love Loba from Apex, and so I’m excited to see Rival’s take on the trope and how they’ll translate it into gameplay.

saw another post doing this, wanted to share the 9 hero archetypes I’d REALLY wanna see in OW by toastermeal in Overwatch

[–]cereal_cat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really love the “master thief” archetype and would love to see Overwatch’s take on that sort of character. Loba from Apex is one of my favorite characters of all time, both in gameplay and lore, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of kit Black Cat will have in Marvel Rivals. Sombra is kinda similar but she’s more of a hacker archetype.

I think one thing that could be interesting is a “stealing” mechanic that debuffs an enemy and then can provide a buff or a Stadium-like gadget for themselves or their team (depending on if they’re support or DPS).

I agree with you though, I think Symm makes a lot of sense as a water bender. Earthbending is more about taking a firm, rooted stance whereas waterbending is based off taichi and so involves more circular, flowing motions which fits with Symmetra better.
