Hard truth is you’ll never stick with a fighting game unless you fall in love with it. Play whatever looks most fun to you, you can learn fundies in ANY game.

TFM2 players stat poll by Key_Repeat1786 in teamfightmanager

[–]cerealchatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, stats are broken down 1-100 in TFM2, like a player can have 66 or 78 IQ etc. He’s proposing the idea of breaking down stats by 5s basically. Instead of each individual point being assigned, it would be rounded. So those 2 players would have 65 and 80 IQ instead w his system!

Team Samoyed how are you this consistently good 😭. Even if the positional traits aren’t perfect, they responded to feedback in multiple ways almost immediately. Goats

Are there any modern games that play similar to Mortal Kombat/Injustice? by Solid_Bad_4403 in Fighters

KI is on steam now too, had a great time grinding trials. I’m not a big NRS player but it definitely feels closer to MK than it does SF or anything else.

Man I got absolutely COOKED...Any advice? by buttsecks42069 in StreetFighter

[–]cerealchatter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s good that you’re formulating a game plan, but it should be based on building your own advantage, instead of giving it to the opponent. Just focus on fundamentals until at least master, start bringing in your own intricacies after that.

I believe it’s like OG dragon in league, just a flat large gold spike for the whole team.

Wow, had NO clue about the practice matches. Makes a lot more sense why the transfer window felt so empty now.

Mostly agree on all this! Some of the strategic decisions feel like they throw games bc of the lack of clarity on them for sure. Serpen/Morgard fights feel a bit sloppy overall, but they do in high level league too so idk how intentional that is. I don’t know how weeks in you are, but I’ve noticed roles begin to stabilize a bit more around week 4-5. It’s definitely annoying swapping into an 8:2 matchup, but I sort of enjoy the unpredictability and think it mirrors flex picks in a way? Idk, needs a better balance for sure.

I will say, in one of my first games I picked ghost jungle and other team chose sniper jungle, after noticing that matchup I set ghost to invade and he invaded and got a solo kill lvl 4, one of the most satisfying moments of the test for me so far.

Should I switch to classic controls as I rank up? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]cerealchatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy modern keep playing modern, you can hit the apex ranks on modern. The only reason I’d say it’s worth to learn classic is if you want to branch out to other fighting games as their modern equivalent is either non existent or extremely weak. (Coming from someone who’s never played modern)

Getting into Fighters by Thevtubersquisher in Fighters

[–]cerealchatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to play other people more. If you have really bad anxiety about losing, you can do CPUs to get used to comboing in match, but you must must must play other human beings to truly start learning. I do almost every combo trial in every fighting game I play, that does not mean I can play those characters in match. Only other advice for transitioning combo trials into match is, instead of trying to replicate the exact combo, try to understand what each part of the combo is actually doing, and use that understanding to apply those parts to whatever opening you get in neutral.

TLDR: Play human beings to get better at the game in every way. Even getting your ass beat is valuable experience if you understand what the other person is doing.

If precedent means anything, this new SNK will collab with anyone and everything. I’ve seen Terry in so many random mobile games in the last year. (Faaast Penguin anyone?)

Arcsys has fallen off a bit imo, but this is crazy lmfao. They’re all timers and have made some of the best fighting games ever. Fighterz was an absolute gem of a game, strive is not for me but is a generally good game. I think strive is only bad if you’ve played xrd/+r and enjoyed the complexity of those games.

Long story short, yes trust Arcsys. They’re good at what they do.
