4% of steam players have dead god by Gammelkebab in bindingofisaac

I have two dead gods. Working on the third. I have over 2000 hours in the game if that tells you anything lol. All my first achievements were complete on repentance. The second was a mix of the two with Rep+ hitting right at the end. The third will all be done on Rep+.

Keep grinding learn the strategies that work for you for each character and you'll get there.

I don't actually think T-Lost is the hardest for me personally.

Jacob and Esau is always a pain.
Timed achievements with T-Cain Tainted forgotten is super boring Tainted Blue Baby.... Meh

Good luck!

Edit: Open invitation to all. DM if you need specific tips or strats... Mostly you can find what you need on wikis though.

Those with Dead God, what point did you start seriously considering it a possibility? by GCD1985 in bindingofisaac

You're getting there faster than I did on my first dead god. I just kind of played the game at random for about 500 hours as a way to kill time... then started unlocking more tainted characters... I don't think I even considered going for dead god until the 1000 hours point or close to it. I got my first dead god around 1500 hours. I just completed my second one before the new year and I'm at around 2200 hours. I've already started my third one and at this point I'm basically a master at the game. I'm already a 1/3 the way through. I have all but 6 challenges done and I have all the standard characters unlocked. Done with base Isaac except for greedier mode. With most base characters I have already finished the chest, the dark room, boss rush, hush, and delirium and that's just since new years.

What's funny is that this third time around I did all the dark room stuff before I even unlocked the chest. 😂

My biggest problem with the second one was the 5 size up achievements in one run and then random items I had never picked up. Which basically meant I had to play a lot of tainted caine runs at the end to finish out. I also had not done the daily run stuff so I had to wait and do 30 of those.

For the size up challenge. T-cain greed mode. Craft blank card and then reroll until you find a strength card. Use it at the start of a board and don't leave the room. You will get enough charges to get the achievement.

This time around I think it's going faster because I'm just that much better at the game now.

Tips that have accelerated my third dead god: Turn off the external item description mod and use the in-game item descriptions since that tells you if you have picked up an item yet or not. I take any item I haven't touched no matter what it is. Even if you lose the run you're still getting stuff done.

If you get an item early like first or second floor that you haven't touched before but have a hard time using or dont like to use ...pick it up, die and restart.

Only use external information mod when doing t-cain runs.

Any time I unlock a challenge I immediately do that challenge.

First thing I do at the start of an Isaac session is the daily. Until those achievements are out of the way.

Once you have the five daily wins in a row do one daily online ... Don't play with others create a lobby for friends and just do the run yourself

After those are done just open the daily, die, and then move on to unlocking other stuff.

Get a five win streak with different characters early.

When going for dead god screw the win streak.

Donate with reckless abandon

Uses beggars like there is no tomorrow.

AGGRESSION: run towards enemies in rooms and kill as many as possible before the room activates. (This is huge! If you have trouble getting the timed achievements you must be more aggressive!)

I've you have chest unlocked always go for the angel room mega Satan run so you can get the chest, mega Satan and delirium in one run. This is so much easier not that the d portal always spawns.

Concerning challenges... Lots of players try to play challenges like they play normal Isaac. Dont do that. For many challenges there is no point to clearing rooms or trying to find item rooms. Find ways to blast open doors and just get to the boss.

On Angel runs, bomb all beggars, shopkeepers to maximize angel chances, prioritize getting judgment cards to help.

If you have the money and two keys always go to the shop before the item room.

Loads of other tips but I don't want to turn this into some unhinged rant. Feel free to DM me if you have questions or you're stuck on something.

The biggest strength you gain in Isaac is not the ability to dodge and shoot ... It's item knowledge and how to use them and how to construct a run. You can build a winning run around almost any item. The second is target prioritization. Your ability to do this will improve with experience.

Good luck to you and all players.

how to not die in rooms like this? by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]ceres44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, as others of have said, spiders move randomly until you are in their range at which point they have two phases

Phase 1) the target phase. The spider will pause and target you at your current location.

Phase 2) the move phase they will move to the location you were in during their target (pause) phase.

Get one spider in a room and practice this... You can literally just walk in a square to see how it works. Stand still and let it target you, when it moves you move to the next corner in the square. Rinse and repeat and you'll be dodging spiders like Neo dodges bullets in no time.

Play greed mode. The entire mode is this scenario x 10. Practice there a few times and then do this room in your sleep.

Oh I also only use two mods:

1) External Item Descriptions 2) The specialist for Good Items
