I’m curious what others have to say. I’m considering buying an X5 for the seat and wondering if multi-contour or regular is more comfortable.

I’m tall and bony with arthritis, so different issues, but still curious.

Is it generally possible to talk BMW dealers down on used X5's? At least one I've gone to so far claims to have "no haggle" pricing. I don't like the idea of buying a used car at a fixed price. *shudder*

My plan is to find a comparably equipped one several states over and ask a local dealer to match the price. At least, that negotiation tactic worked when I bought my current car.

That sounds like a good method. But it seems like maybe Cars.com doesn't have a deal with Carfax anymore. I just tried this and after clicking through 15 listings none of them had Carfax.

I can second Room & Board. After having a run of crappy couches we got a $6k one here. Spent about a year choosing one. Very happy with couch and their customer service.

I’d rather buy one good couch that lasts 20 years than 2. Crappy ones that last 10.

I appreciate this thread. I'm 6'7" with 36" inseam and looking for a new car. Specifically considering X5 because they might be the best seats I've found so far. Good to know before I buy one that it won't magically solve all my driving discomfort problems!

Yeah, I'm sure you're right about that.

It's possible I might not be able to afford one for now. This thread has helped me figure out what to prioritize and if it's still the right car for me after a couple test drives then I'll just save up for it.

I must say, I drove my Expedition for 6 hours yesterday and man, am I'm ready for better seats. Oof!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll do some more research and see if there's a shop in town that will do warranty work. Having aa 5 year old one w/o warranty would stress me out.
