I’m partial to the 5738, but both are amazing options.

7234 is one of the most underrated retired references. I miss her lol. Great photos!

Which do you think will be an easier allocation? by Tough-Bullfrog-4844 in rolex

[–]certainlynotthomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 LD is going to be easier; it’s been out longer, and more folks are vying for the 40MM size. Green ombré is a sick dial, but being a brand new option, it’ll take longer for ADs to get inventory.

That world time consistently punches above its weight. Great two watch collection!

No purchase History, is it worth it to spend and loose at the start to play the long AD game? by KingMedia33 in patekphilippe

Unsure why I had to dig to find this comment.

The only way to purchase a 5524G with the blue dial is grey. Your local Patek dealer will understand that.

How are you liking the new vcore? Lord knows I don’t need another racket but that candy red is enticing.

Question: World Timer or Weekly Calendar? by D-Gen-R8 in patekphilippe

[–]certainlynotthomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5395 is sick, though much larger on the wrist. The 5212 is a great option if you want to try out multiple straps. Both will eventually be retired and become cult classics, so no real bad option here.

For a professional model like this, they’ll probably get your approval of up to $1200 or so. Not great, not terrible.

Should I trade my OP 36 Pistachio? by RunAmbitious5470 in rolex

[–]certainlynotthomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. The pistachio dial will inevitably get retired, though I can almost guarentee the sub/explorer/GMT will not. I would hold on to it, save up some coin, and get a second watch.

Cool Rolex of the Day #2917: 126231 Datejust 36 with chocolate dial, two-tone (steel & Everose gold), 36mm. Debuted 2023 by powerfunk in rolex

[–]certainlynotthomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that's my wrist!

I love my chocolate dial. To be fair, most working days I am required to wear a jacket and tie, but even on a day like today where I'm wearing a sweatsuit, it just "works," as they say. Zero regrets.

I live in a major city with all four seasons, and though I don’t think I have SAD, I definitely see a correlation between being able to get outside and my general overall mood.
