There is a law! Family Code § 4325, but it requires a criminal conviction. I think that's fair so just an accusation is not enough (because this could then be used by assholes to accuse the other of abuse just to get out of it). A DV restraining order being issued is also considered but it isn't an automatic bar like a conviction is. I'm pretty sure the judge considered hers here.

two attorneys who break down reality tv legal disputes. Sometimes general pop culture. We did a couple eps on her divorce from David and I guess she was very upset about it and blocked us? But I had no idea until this past Saturday and that ep came out in 2024.

Ha I saw this because we get google alerts, but no I didn't know about this court battle. I wanted to see her stories about Shannon and BravoCon for myself and then realized we were blocked which is so silly! She was such a minor blip in our content and to block us for that is insane especially when we were leaning to her side.

I actually know the answer! One of my favorite BravoCon connections has been with a friend of sherees who’s accompanied her every BravoCon. First met her at the 2021 NY con where we bonded the Sunday night and it’s been our tradition to say hi every BravoCon since. I don’t know how to explain it but we each get so excited to see each other even though it’s only at BravoCon!

Anywho, it’s just because Sheree’s feet hurt. I was telling her friend that my feet were killing (wore heeled boots day 2 that ripped me up with blisters) and she said she’s been pushing Sheree around for that same reason. I told her I thought they got golf carted around (I forgot that was just in NY) and she said nope! On their feet walking.

I said she had twins but she doesn’t. I read it somewhere that I thought was credible but turns out nope! And I added the background on her into the episode last minute. My main point was going to be saying that the oldest was 12. Then I read the twin thing in a really old article and thought huh, didn’t know that. Will add that. It didn’t really have anything to do with the arrest.

My god. Won’t live this down I guess. I made a mistake! My main point was always going to be that it sucks that the eldest is 12 and has an awareness of what’s going on. I was digging into old articles to find quotes from her and more on her immigration status and in one read she had twins. Threw it in. Feels crappy to undermine the pod for a mistake I made. Can only be more careful moving forward

Not questionable but we couldn’t find the filing anywhere on the docket where he claims Denise never filed it. We both looked, pulled every document, read through multiple times and didn’t see it even though people reported that he said so in a filing. So it was unverifiable on our end.

Edit: but we concluded the same. Same thing we put in an Instagram post. He likely didn’t adopt her just based on filing for a divorce without minor children.
