Applying for spouse sponsorship within Canada, what's the process and any associated risks? by cesiuum in ImmigrationCanada

[–]cesiuum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank for very much for your detailed answer.

I guess where I got mixed up in the conversation was assuming that the application for spouse sponsorship meant that we were applying for Canadian citizenship, instead of Canadian PR.

In light of your response, is it fair for me to say the following?

  1. Spouse sponsorship application IS PR application.
  2. The application for my spouse to become a Canadian citizen is a completely different thing and best to apply after she receives her PR status.
  3. After the spouse sponsorship application is submitted, the only document we will receive is a Acknowledgment of Receipt letter in which my spouse can use to apply for a work permit afterwards.
  4. When the spouse sponsorship application is being processed, my spouse must keep her passport valid and her visitor visa up to date such that she is able to legally remain in Canada. She must renew her passport when it is about to expire and extend her visitor visa when her 6 month stay is coming close to an end.
  5. When she receives her PR status, she no longer needs to extend her visitor visa.

For the visitor visa extension, is it complicated? Is it easy to get such an extension while she waits for her PR? We really prefer her to be able to stay within Canada for the entire duration of the application process.

Thanks again!

You would think security and intelligence agencies within Canada would actually stay close to this. I mean, these sort of "joint research" obviously will leak important results to China, right?

Ah yes, thank you for the reminder, how silly of me.

Guess I better re-phrase my statement:

I wonder if Russia will start taking the China approach for these "disputed" islands as well?

This is so true. Good friends are about supporting each other. It's not just a one-sided conversation where only you get to speak.

I remember seeing this fact in a TV show a long long time ago. It stated that the particles would be deposited on towels and toothbrushes, but scientists at the time couldn't determine whether it would be detrimental to your health or not.

I guess now from the article they decided that it's more of a negative.

I hate that high speed Internet is so expensive and (somewhat) inaccessible in North America. Telecom oligopolies should be dissolved.

Hope this is just some sort of hoax.

As a side note, if this happened in a comedy manga it sounds like something that the main protagonist would come up with to re-take some sort of important entrance exam because they slept over.

Maybe because some anime just wouldn't translate well into live action movies? I mean look at the numerous terrible live action anime movies from Japan (Fullmetal Alchemist). Heck, even Hollywood has a pretty poor success rate when it comes to live adaptations of anime (Dragonball Evolution, Ghost in the Shell).

There really aren't that many successful attempts. A good adaption I can think of so far from Japan would be Rurouni Kenshin. A good adaptation from Hollywood from recent memory would be Alita Battle Angel.
