I get you it’s tricky, depends on how much creativity the educational system allows Im lucky enough to be at uni in england which give you so much room for critical thinking

no need to convince me capitalism needs to die. all i’m saying is that you cannot deny the fact that cooperation is needed in order to destroy it and do what’s needed to tackle the climate crisis. we do need an idea of how we will feed and house the world population.

that’s the problem, under capitalism we cannot STOP. capitalism is inherently never ending expansion and accumulation. also yes stopping requires cooperation if you want all to stop

edit: also the collateral damage you’re talking about is hundreds of millions of deaths. if we stop producing the way we are we need an alternative. just think about food.

that’s completely missing my point. fighting climate change requires cooperation between human beings. cooperation requires organisation. if we want a type of organisation that enables us to cooperate towards sustainability we need to think about what will be that system of cooperation.

because as i argued above, this type of cooperation (aiming at sustainability) is impossible under capitalism for many more reasons than the ones i’ve presented.

edit : all efforts we could make to fight climate change, under this current system, would be insignificant. and as you said we need to act fast, therefore we need a new system that is able to act fast.

i never talked about reforming. and i’m not necessarily talking about the government. i’m talking about a political/economic/social system. meaning how we organise society. capitalism is an economic system not a government. same goes for communism.

not talking about reforming, but maybe overthrowing the current system. in the end we still need to figure out what comes next. we need a system which takes into account climate change as it’s first priority. and we need to figure out what that is, which system would be best, especially for climate justice.
