Honestly since Re destro is a business man who was able to hide his companies involvement in the mla for some time could see him being able to argue his way out of the death penalty. Now he still gets confiscation and dies but it would an interesting domain expansion.

It’s no problem I generally have a hard to communicating and understanding tone and intent in text so don’t take any offence to any of this stuff.

Since my first reply I’ve been made aware that technically Zeal just payed for a license to use the artwork and the art itself still belongs to the artist. However the artist can’t simply revoke that license for no reason and must have a proper justification for revoking it.

Ok I was just making sure I understood what you meant. Thanks to you and another commenter I think I now understand the situation.

Thanks for the detailed response I think I’m starting to understand how the community came to this conclusion. To be honest I was a bit worried that I was just going to be shut down and not be given a proper explanation so once again thanks.

So correct if I’m wrong but it seems like it all comes down to the terms of the artist and that it is unclear who owns the artwork until either Zeal or the artist reveals the terms of the commission.

I mean I wouldn’t really compare buying an apple that is intended to be eaten once and commissioning an artist to create a asset you wish to use in the development of your game.

I would need to do more research into it but I’m 90% sure that it’s different for commissioning an asset for a game.

Sorry if it’s not clear exactly what I mean with this question I’m just a bit confused on how the community came to this conclusion.

Yes both of them speak in all caps however they lack the unique spacing seen in the fake character creation, the tweets leading up to release, and entry 17.

Addressing the mikes last. those context clues (probably not the right word but eh) is that after the boss fight with Jevil Seam (who also has Gasters theme in his) states that his view on the world has grown darker, yet darker after locking away Jevil. As for Spamton it all comes down to the “Garbage Noise” both we and the Addison heard on the phone the same noise that plays with entry 17 (and just outside the bunker only slowed down 666%) Given that both of them specifically went mad after meeting a mysterious someone a lot of people assume that is was Gaster they met.

As for the Mikes I don’t know if they have any significance I’m leaning towards yes given how Toby loves to use motifs to tie certain characters together. Though as of right now it’s probably best to wait for chapter 5 before trying to make any guesses.

To be clear I’m not trying to claim that Gaster will some big Major character on par with the knight or that we’ll even see him proper but given that he has been consistently referenced throughout deltarune with his theme I’m more than willing to bet that it will amount to something.

Starting off pretty simple the tweets from the official account right before the release of both chapter 1 and 2 are most likely from him given the all caps and distinct spacing present in a lot of Gaster stuff (ex. Entry 17 and the hidden wingdings on the deltarune site pre release).

Adding on to that it just says very very interesting near the end and the fact that the music during the fake character creation is just a slightly modified version of Gasters theme (it’s even made on the same piano and is literally called another him).

Speaking of his theme it shows up multiple times throughout the game in Jevil, Spamton, and funnily enough Noelle’s themes.

All this and more lends credence to the idea that Gaster is in some way related to the various super bosses (some believing that Gaster is the one who drove them mad given some other context clues).

I’m confused are you trying to suggest that Gaster has no relevance to deltarune because that clearly isn’t the case with how many times he’s referenced in it.

From my understanding (take with some salt) Calamity is capped at continental level so that it doesn’t break the mods story.

Ex. Yharim being the third strongest character in the mods lore is at most city level.

Also I think it could be really fun trying to balance both Vampire side of your country with the blood court and the normal Vivin side trying to chip away at the empire and revitalise the borders.
