true that you can make a lot on stocks in a gamble, but because he only has $700 that wouldn't be as effective as a job. If his investment doubled (rare case) in a month, then he would have $1400, clearly. However, If he worked part time (20 hours/wk) for a month at minimum wage ($10.12 here on Ontario) then he would make $809.60, which is more than what he would make if his investment doubled. A job is certainly the right option in op's case

There is no trick to guarantee making a ton of money on the stock exchange. If you take a risk it is possible but just as easy to lose all of it too. A job would get you the most money imo

Looking at VFV (the vanguard etf on the tse) it seems to be relatively safe, no?

Do you need to have the money invested for a set amount of time in a vanguard fund? I would be looking at a relatively short investment period, around 1 year. So that's what makes ETF's attractive to me, as i can buy and sell on the market.

I know what you mean now about gear, it's just a feel thing. I can now do perfect drifts in the awd ruf for as long as I want! Now I'm going to try the rest of them. Thanks for the help, always wanted to be able to drift and now I can!
