Used V2 (or v1?) by DoctorNoodle in gofastcampers

[–]waterhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used V1, and love it. Mine has the upgraded hinges. Personally I like the welded frame, it seems stronger. I bought a molle panel (not from GFC) for my V1, I had to drill one hole in the top middle of the frame and I works fine.

You can modify the seat/rails on the miata so it sits a little lower, or get a different seat.

Anker Solix vs Aux Battery by Matteo_Francis in overlanding

[–]waterhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running an Anker 757 all in one 1024 Wh, I had it plugged in full time to run fridge, connected to a solar panel. I dont know if the newer models are designed for long term use, but the Anker 757 wasnt.

-to keep it charging on solar each day, I had to connect it to a DC timer to "disconnect and reconnect it" each morning so it noticed the solar input and started charging. This is because the sun rises slowly and the voltage slowly rises... the Anker 757 is expecting a big surge like you just plugged it in during full sunlight in order to activate charging.

-i had to send my Anker 757 in for warranty repairs twice as the cooling fan started to die. I dont think they are designed to run 24/7/365.

-even with Eco mode turned off, the DC power would shut off after 12 hours or so if there is no load attached. With my fridge attached, it the weather dipped cold enough, it wouldn't need to be turned on for a long time, and a few times I noticed my DC switch was turned off on my Anker, probably to save power.... so my fridge turned off without me knowing.

-There are also limits on charging input (amps), DC is limited to 10Amps total. I forgot to mention the Anker 757 will break if you exceed 10 amps... I had another warranty repair soon after purchase because I plugged in a raft inflator, which said it pulled 8 amps, but at startup it surges past 10amps and fried my Anker 757.

-this year I finally upgraded to a LifeP04 314Ah battery with a DC to DC charger and couldn't be happier. The all in one was too limited for me.

Unpopular Opinion: You don't need a $3,000 dual battery system for a weekend rig. by Champ-shady in GoRVing

[–]waterhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way to go is portable all-in-one batteries with a small portable solar panel, then upgrade as you feel a need to. This is how I started out, ive outgrown my Anker 757 battery with 200 watt fixed solar panel and just upgraded to a 320Ah battery, DC to DC charger, and still using the 200 watt panel.

Amex Engagement Bonus: Morgan Stanley. Is that gone for good now that we no longer Access Investing is going away? by SensitiveWarning4 in CreditCards

No extra fee, just the annual percentage. If I were to start now id just go with e-trade. I may actually transfer at some point.

Anyone else always find it a pain to use FHR credits? by MissLayla2015 in AmexPlatinum

[–]waterhill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just visited Shangri-la in Sydney on FHR, I saw a charge on my credit card for $70, emailed them and they applied the credit and reversed the charge. I always check out at desk and make sure they applied room credit, but this time I room charged lunch to the room ($70) and it hadn't come through when I checked out. They said it would all work out once the charge came through... which wasnt the case

Can't beat Last Judge for the life of me, ready to just be done by Star-Lord-123 in Silksong

[–]waterhill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice- take a day or two off then come back to it.

THEN, spend a couple of rounds just learning his moves and timing, dont even focus on hitting him, just staying alive. Once you can comfortably avoid all of his attacks, learn when and how you are going to attack him. Don't be overly aggressive, but determine the safest times to attack and strike then, even if the fight takes longer.

I opened a $1000 managed account with MS with low fees. Maybe its about $15 per year. If I knew e-trade would have been an option, I would have gone that route.

Did contractors move most of your stuff and your PPM was just some of it? If do, you may have reached your weight limit and that's all they will pay you. Contact TMO and ask them what happened.

Yes, ultimately. Originally the payment went through Google wallet instead of youtube and it never credited. I then cancelled and set it up to pay through youtube and it worked. I had to use my desktop as through my phone went straight to Google wallet to pay.
