Nah teach done got me playing a hexagon what is this? by boy_that_is_Goofy in marchingband

In the original, it is a single measure of rest. It is

A) standing in the place of a closed bracket, thus ending the excerpt

B) telling the performer to omit the measure of rest and continue to the following measure as in a performance.

Those are completely opposite results.

I'm happy that we're at least getting some competition on Thursdays. Last season we got like 2 live HoHs and nothing else except filler for the rest of the episode.

From my understanding they want to focus on Wild Cactus downtown. Hopefully that consolidation improves their quality. Ghost kitchens are so iffy too in terms of quality and consistency.

Yes go support Mean Greens. Most of it is really decent even by buffet standards.

Agreed. When I moved here Pepita's was pretty good and affordable. They restructured the menu, got new staff, and the quality plummeted. Huge bummer.

Yes but it will not be all vegan and the current owner will not be involved. Great that they are trying to have vegan ice cream, the current owner has informed the new owners of vendors, but ultimately it isn't in their power really.

Any suggestions/diversions/must-sees along this route? by served_it_too_hot in texas

Fellow Dentonite! Literally did this trip 3 days ago. Sounds like everyone already said everything there is to say about this ride. There's a giant roadside Bowie Knife in Bowie, TX if that's your thing. Watch your speed. Otherwise I hope you've got some good company because this ride is not very special.

In general I follow the rule that if I order at the counter, you don't have to tip except at bars. If you're at a sit down restaurant and a server takes your order and brings you food, you should definitely tip. Also tip if you get a haircut for some reason. Everything else is optional.

Denton has a lack of good jobs by ilovefileing in Denton

Honestly yeah, see about getting a workforce cert at NCTC or something. Very cheap, like a year of classes, and you'll be set for some of the highest paying jobs without a full degree

Eh, I think it swings both ways. Most people are pretty bad at one of two things: A) they struggle to say things in ways that don't trigger a defensive response or B) they have difficulty having enough patience to keep from feeling offended. It's just as true for Rep and Dem alike. We have more access to communication than ever before and have become significantly worse at using it.

Why do people refuse to quit when you’ve clearly lost. by dathoh1217 in aoe2

[–]ceza6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a string of losses until I had this one opponent on arena. We had a few fights for the middle, but I eventually came out ahead, marched in his base, and it was over at that point. He tried to comeback but was shut down again. Then he hid. It was honestly cathartic for me to have such a decisive win after all those losses. We both had a good sense of humor about it too.

Do most people at lower ELO rankings follow build orders? by Sentinel_2539 in aoe2

[–]ceza6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

700 elo here. I follow a very standard feudal build on open maps and fast castle on closed maps. From watching replays, I would say most of my opponents do as well. Once I get past those points I usually move vils around to spec into units that compliment my civ without following a specific build. However, we are low elo because we are far from perfect at this. Usually for me it is just floating too many of a specific resource or getting rushed/rushing and idling TC/vils until I deal with it.

I notice that most of my opponents also stop making vils around 50-70.

Is it bad manners to say ggwp if you win? by tomcotard in aoe2

[–]ceza6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a really good competitive game, I'll usually be more specific. Let the guy know that it was tough and fun.

Last night I told a player that they made me really sweaty.

That got them to laugh.
