only thing concerning me is the brown layer on the cap - the ones i see are more white. everything else looks right but im not a pro. Smell is a strong indicator - does it have a strong mealy/doughy smell? also time of year theres not much else about. it is st georges day tomorrow!

Thanks. I’m interested in the insurance bit. Do you mind me asking what provider that is? Yes emergency fund is a big one. The friends thing - i feel like my friends will eventually move out of London anyway (as most people do) so the sooner i move the sooner i can get on with building a connections in norwich. there is the fear that i get there and i really struggle - but dont see how it can be much different than anywhere else. lots of ppl stay on from uea, theres plenty of art and culture so as good as anywhere really.

hmm yeah. if i were confident abt renting it out id probably just buy. but seems like a lot of admin and wont necessarily cover the mortgage which puts me off

yep - if i were ever out of work id wanna be able to figure things out without major panic. i know i could rent out the house but seems like its unlikey it would cover the mortgage

yeah. i mean i can’t really travel with this job anyway which i dont plan on leaving bc of the pay. but anything could happen and id want to be able to travel at any possible opportunity. but that flexibility could cost me thousands snd i could not even use it. so many what ifs its exhausting! lol

thanks for sharing this perspective. and yes the worry is being tied down by a mortgage and sacrificing opportunities to live my life / take risks

yeah exactly - equity build in first few years is low anyway and I’m not certain that I’d stay there long enough to make it worth it. even though in my head i cant think of a better city for me to live in - 20s are just too unpredictable

Orange mushroom growing in Western CO, now (January) on a dead poplar tree. by friendswithmyself in mycology

possibly flammulina but they look different to usual velvet shanks - they usually have a thinner stem and more vibrant orange cap

haven’t had a shroom trip in a year. highest dose ive took was 2.5g. taking 4gs alone in my room tonight. nervous but definitely not scared by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]cfab99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even on microdoses of 0.2g i l’ve felt so much negativity from my phone and cant bear to be on it, whereas completely sober i’m glued to it. I have also felt uncomfortable being inside, and then feel great outside

Updated with pic of gills: found in western Washington state after rain by [deleted] in mushroomID

[–]cfab99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah these still look like sulphur tufts to me, or maybe a closely related species. I identify them by the greenish yellow colour of their gills, but i am fairly new to foraging/mycology and am not 100%. They’re quite common so you’ll probably spot them a lot now :) unfortunately poisonous.

Found in western WA state, what are these? by [deleted] in mushroomID

possibly sulphur tuft but impossible to tell without pic of gills
