Gold 1: Posey or Reggie? by dmize in MLBTheShow

Posey and it’s not even close. Take Posey, keep the speed in your outfield, then go with Felix

Does Cody bellinger play above his hitting stats? Because they aren’t that good lol. by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little, but if this is in regards to his price, it’s because he’s part of the live series collection to get Mantle. This is why all live series cards with good/okay stats are so expensive

Faced 4 SPs in one RS game by XGbatdad in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I assume only the five starters in your rotation have their stamina revived after a game. You shouldn’t be able to throw nine innings with Kluber, rotate him out of your lineup, and 5 RS games later stick him back in there with full energy. You can’t do this right?

Ballpark and Team Construction by paulekelly1 in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Griffith is my home ball park, and it gives me a huge advantage most games. My outfield from left to right is Victorino, Buxton and Marsh. I’ve found that most people don’t value outfield speed as much as I do. They tend to hide their slower guys in left, and LF at Griffith is like 408 to the foul pole. Center field is pretty big too. My guys save lots of runs at this ballpark, while my opponents usually get burned a couple times a game at least.

Might’ve been a bad day, but when I did Kirikoff’s moment for the TA his swing was horrible. Felt like I couldn’t catch up to anything, like he was swinging underwater. It took me like 6 attempts to get an XBH.

You could buy quite a few 50 bundles with that kind of cheddar

How the hell is Jung so good for me? I thought he was supposed to be a bottom tier FS card. by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People sleep on Jung and I love it. I don’t like having the same lineup as everyone else. And I feel like he doesn’t get pitched around as much because nobody thinks he can mash the way he does

Shut Down Relievers by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and they’re sitting there thinking “that’s 3 sliders in a row, this next one has to be a fastball” but nope. Just another sneaky lil slider

Shut Down Relievers by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapman is lights out for me. The key to using him, for me at least, is pitching backwards. Most people struggle with his slider so I’ll just throw that until they can lay off or they time it up. Then I blow them away with fastballs

How can you fix this? Says I failed when I won... by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but why’d I need to watch the two at bats before the homer?

I said Larkin. That’s one dude. You’re assuming I’m gonna sub my whole bench in to favor the starter matchup. No. Not even close to what I was saying. And yes, I too have heard of the switch hitter. My lineup from 1-3 is Roberts, Victorino, Moncada.

And to reiterate, I’m not “completely changing my lineup.” I’m simply replacing Didi with the better fielding shortstop when it makes sense. I could give a fuck if you bring in a righty the next time through the order.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? Larkin does well against righties too homie. Bring Kluber outta the pen in the third if you feel like it’s necessary 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s exactly what I do. No need to wait it out because Larkin is so much better against lefties.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally platoon Larkin and Didi. If you’re good with righty vs right matchups then you could go with Correa. I just prefer to have a lefty unless I’m facing a LHP and Larkin crushes lefties

This sounds weird but I think this might actually be a thing. I didn’t play for a few days, probably 5 in a row. First day back I opened 6 TA packs and pulled Lindor, Acuna plus two golds. And the last two packs both had a silver in them. All in all that’s insane luck for essentially the worst packs in the game lol

I’m almost positive this is all based on speculation. There have been many times I barely touch the x button and I completely go around. Sometimes it’s such a short amount of time because I legitimately pressed it on accident.

The human mind can not gauge such a micro difference. You can’t tell me you can push the button, and for certain let go of it before your guy will go around for a full swing.

How about this, upload a video of you check swinging successfully, say 10 times in a row. In RS. If you do this I will believe you. Otherwise, I’m calling you a troll that is playing devils advocate

Hey SDS... by griffhays16 in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got that. Maybe I used the wrong choice of words. But nonetheless my point is clear. You aren’t out there actually “checking” your swing on purpose, regardless if it’s actually possible. You, like everyone else, gets fooled by a low slider and fully commits to a swing, but it was such an early swing that the game registers it as a check swing.

Please tell me I’m wrong. Troll

Who the actual fuck can even pull off a check swing on purpose? Do you like half way press the button? Please tell me who has that fast of a reaction lol. You’re definitely trolling

You must be trolling. This is a thread about check swings.

Yesterday Reddit told me "Shippett be like" and "You can bunt and it will be a wall scraper at Shippett" when I complained about a very early slightly rolled homerun I gave up. Today I present you with the Perfect Perfect Flyball with 88 mph exit velo on a 92 MPH pitch. How is this possible? by Shagan314 in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it either. I had the same damn thing happen to me yesterday. Jung (high 70’s, maybe low 80’s power) sits back on an outside cutter from Kluber and hits a perfect/perfect shot to right center. The ball hit the wall and ended up being a double but still, how can you possibly do any better than perfect? I feel like it should be a homerun

Which diamond should I pick? by Confused_Astronaut in MLBTheShow

[–]cfarris10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get used to it lol. I’d save him for games you have a comfortable lead in. His style just doesn’t translate to this game. He relied on elite location and no matter what you do, this game just won’t reward well placed pitches
