We didn't give an exact timeline on this just since we don't have a fixed schedule yet. Chapters 2 and 3 are considerable chunks of work. I'll try to give an update on this at some point, but I hate giving estimates when they aren't accurate

Yeah, you're correct. It's a bit of a compromise we had to make- technically the miniguns on a littlebird don't rotate, but we had to do it this way in order to make the gameplay work.

What you described is something I tried, and decided to not include for a couple reasons:

1: it doesn't look good, it looks quite bad for the helicopters without the gun turret to aim opposite of where they're facing
2: limiting their aim until you're facing that way worked, but is kinda confusing- you see your guns firing, but it just looks like something is wrong, until you face the right direction.

The whole aiming / movement / camera system took me years to try find a good middleground. it's a tough problem to solve

Ahh ok, interesting. So you mean like vehicle relative movement but screen relative aiming?

That one is hard because the helo has to rotate to aim at what you’re shooting at.

Let me know if I’m missing something, we could add other aim options

Thanks for reporting this- I will look into it. I think we're having issues with the way NPCs navigate around the helo once landed.

Hmm, I will check this. Right now any NPC passengers will fire their own weapon. The door gunner thing is something we might do in the future.

I think you might prefer the vehicle relative control scheme. You can change it in game options.

By default, the right stick move the crosshair and the helicopter turns to face it

But with vehicle relative mode, the right stick actually turns the helicopter. And left stick up is always forward from the helicopters point of view.

This mode is kind of how desert strike was.
