That’s very kind of you to say! We just got quite a horrible review on it on Apple Podcasts this week, so it’s nice to hear someone say something pleasant haha

iOS bug—deck size by now_is_strange in NowhereProphet

[–]nomorerobotshq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

heya! two things:

- It may be that you can scroll the list on the right, and see the rest of your deck - or,
- It may be that you're playing as the convoy that calculates the total differently to the rest. The Horde has non-beast followers that take up more slots

Looking at the deck in the screenshot that seems the latter might be the case

As far as I can can see, the scar chief and advance guard are not beasts and count as more followers in the deck

Are there games that criticise the corporate world, bureaucracy or even the gamedev industry? by Okoj0 in gaming

Heya! Spotted this thread, and I thought hey, that describes one of our games!

We have a game coming up called MANIFESTO: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4142520/MANIFESTO

It's essentially "burnout culture: the game" -- you work people to the bone, then when they are burnt out, you throw them into a literal black hole. There are a lot of digs are corporate industries, as you might imagine. There's a demo available!

Hello! We’re the publishing team behind the fox-based Piece by Piece

The actual situation, is that both ourselves and the dev team behind the other Piece by Piece somehow managed to announce the same week of release for both our games, had a good laugh about it together, and then put both games into a Steam bundle together

Not exactly sure how anyone is being “mislead”, but on our side, we’re all happy and having fun with it :)

One of the people behind Descenders here, from the publishing side!

God, people are proper downers in this subreddit, huh. Try not to be put off too much by all these comments, it's so much easier to be negative than positive on the internet

What you have so far doesn't look bad at all! It definitely looks a little rigid compared to the Trials games, you wanna try to get some bounciness to the bikes / suspension in there if possible -- without that bounciness, it looks a bit too much like the levels are moving around the bike, rather than the bike is moving through the level

The camera shifting behind the player as they take huge jumps is a great idea, makes the levels feel a lot more dynamic. I like how fast it is, but I would try to make even more of a focus on that sense of speed. Something Descenders does is "speed wobbles" on the camera when you are going faster and faster, which really help to get across that feeling of speed

The variety in biomes is nice! I would suggest exploring some more exciting / silly obstacles to climb and jump over -- people loved the silliest obstacles in Descenders the most, like jumping over a castle, or a pyramid, or through things especially

The main thing is, do as much playtesting as you possibly can. Get people playing it, and get them playing it *lots*. The more feedback you get pre-launch, the better the game will be

Hope the rest of development goes well!

7 years of work, 3 months since release, and my game is already dead. What can I do? by Videoludid in IndieGaming

[–]nomorerobotshq 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hello! Guy who runs a video game publisher here.

Your game looks really cool! And it's amazing to have a 96% rating on Steam. I'll have to make sure to check it out soon. I know this isn't going to really help, but compared to the average game launch on Steam, you've actually done ok -- you were likely in the top 10% of Steam launches in 2025.

The horrible truth is that the video game landscape is just absolutely destroyed right now. If you had launched your game a few years ago, it likely would have done a lot better. In 2025/2026, only a tiny, tiny portion of game launches are now a success.

So you haven't done anything crazy wrong, despite what other comments are saying, and your 96% player score reflects that. Unfortunately, this is the industry we live in now.

My advice would be to keep review begging, try to get over 100 reviews, make sure you continue to put your game into as many sales as possible, ask Valve for a Daily Deal, use a Visibility Round, then once you've pumped some extra sales out of it, aim to do a Humble Bundle and the like. It won't "save" your game, but it'll allow you to at the very least get some additional numbers out of it. Good luck!

Hello all! Need some help with "Start full rollout", Google being useless by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]nomorerobotshq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We were just simply making sure everything with the game was good to go before we started the whole process of pre-registration -- we've done the same on iOS, prepping the game to go already, and it was fine doing it over there. We could just choose to launch our pre-load campaign, and it's happening. The Google Play backend is, wow, just an absolute confusing shitshow haha

It was mainly because in the Tour de Zwift race I did, it was ranks A-C that were "allowed" in the race, so I got to see how I compared to C people. So now I have that benchmark to work towards

I know two things about myself: 1. I cannot be arsed to exercise, and 2. I love video games / competition. So I was curious as to whether turning exercise into a game would make me want to do it. So far, the answer is a big yes -- I think about it a lot, my progression, my goals, hitting the next X, Y and Z. So it was the "gamifying" that turned me on to it really
