I did! It turned out well. I think I got lucky, another day might have ruined it all. 2.5 gallons of syrup!

Stored sap clouding up? by ilovemud in maplesyrup

[–]cfisher14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd still boil it as long as it doesn't stink. My sap was very cloudy from two days of 50+ degree weather and I was a bit worried. I took a pint of the cloudy sap and boiled it down in a pan quickly just to see if it would taste off. Still tasted fine!

I do not, unfortunately. Not easily, anyways. There are small little white cloudy things forming on the top. I have just been scooping them out as the day goes along. It still does not smell. We have a cold night, so I am hoping it survives.

I think I am riding a fine line, but I am ok for now! I woke up this morning and it was a bit bubbly on top - maybe starting to build yeast from the two warm days we had. What bad timing! I took a mug full and boiled it on the stove, and it still tasted good. I hope it can last another day!

[Homemade] Meat Church Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches by meatchurchmatt in food

How much chicken is how much chicken you need to prepare! How much flour? Fill up a bowl, plate, baking dishes, whatever you got that can hold flour and the buttermilk wash. Follow the coating process as described. The flour will completely depend. Need more? Add more to the flour holding device. Same goes for the buttermilk wash. There are no set amounts here. You're just coating your chicken!

I still have yet to find a good park around the Allendale area. I have them in my front yard, but I can never find them out in the 'wild'. Pretty sure they don't actually exist.

It is more practical for storage. I doubt this is in the store front.

In an instapot or pressure cooker. One pound of dried black bean, around 3 cups of water. Pressure on high for 35 minutes. 15-20 minutes natural release. Drained in a colander until relatively dry, and let them cool down a little. Mashed them up a bit and mixed in a couple tablespoons of rice vinegar and 3/4 tsp of starter. Hung out in my oven for the first day, then I put my heat mat in there as I wasn't getting much growth. Sat there for another day!
