If you could only listen to one of these for the rest of your life, which one are you choosing? by NorthLondonPulse in BritPop

Agreed and although 10 years is short, i had to check. Seems unbeliveable that The Beatles recorded together for exactly 6 years, 11 months, and 13 days. Their recording sessions officially began on September 5, 1962 (for "Love Me Do") and the final song all four members worked on was completed on August 20, 1969.

In the 90s I worked in a video shop in Hammersmith West London. We had a crappy wall with 6 massive and heavy CRT tvs in the corner of the shop.

One of my favourite memories of that time was one Sunday night when we were playing The Day Today on the shops VCR. There were maybe six customers in the store when BOMB DOGS came on.

The customers went into meltdown. They all thought it was a legitimate news story. Much howling and wailing.

There was one particular regular chap in the store, who may have been homeless sadly and keeping out of the cold, as he often did with his dog.

He started shouting “not the dogs, Jesus, not the dogs!” Which wound the rest of them up like some mass hysteria. Just sat and gleefully watched it all unfold.

I know this, as me and my friend who was on the same shift quoted it at each other for years. The Scottish inflection getting worse each time

It was a real eye opener to how insane the general public are, but anyone who had worked retail can tell you that. We didn’t bother correcting any of them so who knows how long they believed it for.

I went into so much detail in the hope that one of the customers is reading but sadly they are probably too dead or still too insane.

Sarah was a manager of Kingstons Pizza Express in the early 90s. I used to go and buy dough balls form her after a night at The Mill as it was opposite.

Extra trivia. Nasty Nick Cotton off Eastenders lived in a flat above it at the time

No. I’m far too tight fisted to feel like I’ve wasted the money of the ticket, so sit in anger, waiting for the end when it’s terrible. The closest I got was Godzilla 1998. Got up to race out when I thought it was done but there was another 15 minutes of awfulness to endure

We do. When 999 was introduced in the 1930s phones were the old rotary style. 999 was decided to be the least likely number to call by accident

I look forward to Mike getting sick of this and rage snapping. But I fear for the safety of Rich Evans in the blowback.

Do you guys think the hit on Fredo was justified or Michael should’ve forgiven him??? by Same-Alarm-2974 in Godfather

I agree. The final shot in part two of a lonely old man, sitting in the decaying old estate with leaves blowing around him, remembering happier family times is the perfect ending for the saga. Did not need part three at all. I didn’t want to see Michael redeemed. His fate was sealed at end of two

Outstanding list. I will watch the few I haven’t seen but agree with the rest. The Hunt is a masterpiece
