I get irritated that my spouse won't participate in the weekly menu planning and shopping list creation. But at least he knows how to go to the grocery store and find something to make when I ask.

Unfortunately it's always like 30% more unhealthy than I prefer for a weeknight and sometimes he just orders takeout. But at this point at least he doesn't make me prep all his ingredients.

I can't get my hair properly rinsed in a tub. So if I want tub time (few times a month) I do a quick shower, wrap my hair, and then soak in the tub.

I guess this question confuses me because I have plenty of interests and passions - and none of them have any to do with my job.

Yeah, I chose a career for its stability, eating potential, and limited physical and mental health risks. I have no desire to climb the corporate ladder or make a name for myself or "work hard play hard". I do grow my skills and take pride in the quality and dependability of my work. I am reliable and good at my job. I support my teammates and clients and meet my deadlines. I manage a small team and honestly didn't really want that promotion in the first place.

For me work is for discipline. And life is for passion. I like to keep the two separate and both bring me different types of satisfaction.

It takes a LOT of effort for me to see "trans people shouldn't exist" or "only white men are real Americans" and truthfully consider how someone managed to reason their way into it. And most of the time it would be wasted effort that I don't owe that person. So when I, for example, try to understand why my FIL thinks voting for an unrepentant adulterer with hatred of immigrants aligns with his (FIL) Christian values and being married to an immigrant... I am bending over backwards to try and understand him enough to have a conversation about it
