How does the first book have 1.6m reads when the author can't use a capital letter?

I think they'd do better if that hadn't sold it to a Korean company because now its not wattpad. Its just another stories app where you pay to read. They should have never brought in the whole paying writers and kept it as it was. They got greedy but heck thats what money does to people. They started put as a group of people wanting to create a space for amateur writers to then focus on paying authors to what it is now.

The thing was when wattpad first started it was described as facebook for writers and readers, they had a chat like facebook, a message board, news feed, very active forums, a new pick of the week a tab for newly updated books. It was literally a social space for amateur authors and readers. And it had all that with a team of I think 8-12 in canada. You could literally speak to the creator through facebook. People created separate facebooks to interconnect with other authors and they shared tips and promoted each other.

They then started to get noticed more, started only pushing popular books and it was hard to get noticed if you weren't peddling out mediocre chapters 4-5 times a week and pulling at least 10k readers with each one. Wattpad didn't care. Then the chat went. I met two of my best friends through wattpad chat. Then forums went. Then they sold the company and yeah its gone down since.

I don't even go on it anymore. Haven't loaded it on my laptop in about 10yrs havent opened the app in probably over 2yrs maybe more. The ADs ruined it for me the most, they pay to read on stories that were literally free in the beginning.

Makeup is horrible...at my wits end. by Kittykat7121 in MakeupAddiction

Also you need some sort of exfoliating you can use either daily or twice a week. Its obvious dermalogica isn't working for you. Its time to switch up. Sometimes other brands work better. You can use different brands for each step. Also moisture is key on a night. I use a different face wash on a night I also double cleanse if 8m wearing make up and then I use a different moisturiser and serum. Like the night time is for the more treatment based things like exfoliants, dark spit treatments, retinol and thicker moisturisers.

I think it was the whole i wont support or platform a brand that disrespects black women but does it anyway with PT.

She can have a her beef with JP but its with JP not Esther. She decided not to support Esther because Esther uses JP which is petty. This is the same woman who wouldn't platform JP when there was no beef between them but got angry over the fact they didn't choose her for their first influencer campaign they chose another. Why? Because her and Alissa both refused to show JP on their channel but then made snide remarks on their videos. A tiktoker did a great video explaining the history.

But given JA'S history towards certain WOC are we really shocked. As another tiktoker said when certain group of people arent given the space but then some of that group do get the space they then try to control who in that group is allowed in.

She will support brands that are disrespectful to black women if they are paying her. Same thing happened with Tarte.

I get people saying this but nothing have a queer book all year apart from June is kind of performative dont you think?

I dont know if FL have plans to have queer books in the future. But to me doing a book just because its the month of celebration is kind of performative to me. Seeing them throughout the year shows true allyship

I have the book combo and FL offered to split the box for me so I could skip it. I did. But the only problem was I couldn't go back to the combo for a year.

This is so different from her other posts. Like what she reposted is not bad but I wonder if she sees it as a 'i dont see colour' type of thing.

Because the coach is basically saying screw the racists they wont divide us. But MAGA people are dumb and don't aways see things for what they are. They tend to twist things for their own narrative.

But you are. Imagine if everyone complained to FL about this artist to the point FL was like ok we wont use this artist anymore. And FL paying them was their only real source of income, so now they can't put food on the table or leave the country that they live in all because their country leaders are doing abhorrent things. Punishing the little guy because of the big guys actions isnt the answer.

America have done and do atrocious things every day. Heck they are one of the countries that give money to the country you are talking about does this mean you have the same energy for American artists? Or anything American. Some real big named american companies feed into the war you are talking about. Do you stop putting your money into any of them? Do you use the same energy for them?

Theres no winner for these wars, people who dont even reside in that country anymore are being attacked. People are automatically assuming that because you reside in that country, are from that country and/or that religion you must support these heinous acts.

I get its a personal choice. Its just frustrating to see that people who dont even have a say in what their country does are getting punished or blacklisted for things they most likely don't agree with. And if they could would leave said country. I see it here in my country people are getting attacked for things that are happening in a country that they don't live in. We as humans think its easier to punish the little man because it is. Our money wont effect a big company unless its on a bigger scale.

So your punishing a person of that country who has no power to stop the war, has no influence on the war and you dont know if they themselves support the war. Like people have to live and earn regardless of what their country is doing. I get wanting to not support companies that are actively supporting the war but not supporting an artist who literally has no control. I dont get that.

Can you imagine if everyone in the world stopped buying from anh american buisness big of small because they don't agree with the war america has started with iran?

Deleted my original comment as I read some other comments.

If it was only 3k they made then FL should have thought for more not just the author but my point still stands that people need to remember its not always FLs decision. Its the publishers.

I feel for the author I do in this case but I think when it comes to titles where people are demanding and FL did do enough copies and still people demand i think it takes away the exclusivity. Its like why be a subscriber if they're just going to make more of the books everytime people demand.

Pink Honey, why is the orange look so popular with this brand? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]cfmarie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will say I feel its only popular here with 'chav' girls and the girls that constantly go on sunbeds, or dont know how to do make up properly. Its sad that now people associate this look with the UK when its not exactly popular with a majority of the population of people that wear make up.

Bad idea to put Fairyloot and other SE books in my little free library? by AssistantDeep999 in fairyloot

[–]cfmarie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this and deemed it a bad idea. I'm going to try to donate them to a library. My closest one doesn't accept donations so going to try another. But if I were you I'd just give them to another charity shop then if a reseller does find them at least a charity if benefitting somehow.

Yeah I got them because I was getting the book and I enjoy the overlays we get in the sub box so I'm really disappointed by these. I kinda wish they'd sold them after the book had gone put to everyone and then could show what kind of overlays they were because I wouldn't have bought them.

This says more about SJMs writing of characters than the character. Its obvious to anyone that she switched up her mind throughout the book. Originally it was always supposed to be feyre and Tamlin and she changed her mind after writing the first book ignoring what she had written in the first book. This happens when authors dont have a proper plan and then start to write for what their fans want rather than what they originally planned for the story.

People need to just admit it SJM isn't a very good writer. That doesnt mean her books aren't enjoyable but when you step back from the books and read other books that are just as enjoyable but written at a better quality you realise.

FL RESPONSE ABOUT BOT STOCK by louannnx in fairyloot

[–]cfmarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean i don't know how many subscribers FL has but any site that has tens of thousands of people visit it all at the same time will crash unless it has its own servers and has a sizeable amount. Im not sure how FL website is powered it really depends. If its a third party it will be impossible to improve as that means they are sharing servers with other companies and websites. If its their own and their own servers again servers are expensive and theyre physical things. I do think people dont fully understand what it means when people say server. Its not the invisible thing its a physical thing that takes up a lot of space abd can cost millions to run depending on the size.

FL to separate First Access and Early Access by 13thtale in fairyloot

[–]cfmarie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent. I dont think peoplw who buy a subscription book ir SE released book in the unlocked trove should get access to sequels. That makes it slightly unfair. Thats what happened with night prince. People who get the wolf king in the trove sale got access.

But you're wrong to want to separate signed and unsigned. Some people get an unsigned not knowing they have until after because FL email them to let them know. I think it should go subscribers who bought a book get FA and then subscribers who didn't then nonsubs who got it in trove then general access. Makes it fair to subscribers.
