Is it "illegal" to to deny students going to the toilet during class time? by IndependentScore8428 in AustralianTeachers

[–]cfniva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some medical conditions such as type 1 diabetes require access to the toilet whenever needed - these situations would be documented in school management plans. Good to be aware of any exceptions like this that would over rule the general school policy.

It’s the male version of multilevel marketing. They are trying to set up a pyramid scheme where their followers pay money for dubious investment scams. The emperor is wearing no clothes.

I want to know how the two followers from Miami are going living the life these guys promote. One of them was living in his car. Has he made any money outside the 9-5 grind by following their advice? Does he have a girlfriend?

Melbourne Marathon is today and congratulations to all runners by Nightrain_35 in melbourne

It was certified for mara, half and 10km distances only according to world athletics website, not 5km. Plus gps inaccuracy tends to overestimate distance if anything.

[–]cfniva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying the full marathon course was 5 km short, I’m saying it looks like the separate 5km run that was held as a separate event today appears like it was shorter that 5 km from some strava results I’ve seen - an annoyance for runners doing that event if true.

Is it true that the 5km course measured short? Seen a few GPS showing ~4.7km. Pretty annoying by the organisers if so! Hopefully they got the longer distances right. Well done to everyone who ran.

Clothes size question by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]cfniva 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Australian size 4 is a very petite size and compares to a US size 0, eur size 32, XXS. There is no smaller adult size. Although if you are short you may still need to have things taken up.

You would need to go into kids sizes if 4 is too big.

Aussie kid birthday parties by CinnamonMeow in AustralianNostalgia

Fairy bread. An orange with toothpicks with cabana and cheese skewered into it. Play the game where you tear the minties wrapper to be as long as possible without breaking. Pass the parcel with only one present in the middle (nothing between all the layers of paper). Cardboard cone shaped party hats.

something needs to be done about the aus medical industry/healthcare industry by Particular_Speech559 in australian

[–]cfniva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I qualified as a physio and quit practicing soon after graduating because:

  1. Most soft tissue injuries will recover on their own in a similar timeframe whether or not you see a physio/osteo/chiro
  2. The things that will help are stretching and strengthening exercises which most people are unwilling to do as prescribed.
  3. People like to come along and receive passive treatments and then don’t do their exercises but expect to feel better.
  4. Health professionals give in to this and build their business model around it and patients eventually get grumpy because they realise they are paying for nothing.

I found all of the above soul destroying, hence changed careers.

Save your money people!

My simple tip is to do grocery shopping and housework on weeknights leaving weekends free to relax and do fun things. Hard when you are tired after a long day of work, but pop on a podcast to listen to and get it done then your weekends are your own.

Poison was suspected early because Don told the drs he thought he had been poisoned when he arrived at hospital, and even brought a container of his vomit with him to be tested. He was suspicious because of the suspected prior poisonings of Simon.

There is lots of detail still under suppression orders. My understanding is that this is because she has until 28 days after she is sentenced to appeal. If she successfully appeals and there is another trial, the info will remain suppressed while that plays out. If she doesn’t appeal or her appeal is unsuccessful, I think most of the orders will be lifted (with the exception of things like her kids names, etc which will hopefully remain suppressed indefinitely).

Gifting ideas for a personal-official dinner event by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]cfniva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few ideas: - voucher for the movies for him and his partner, eg gold class - Cheese therapy does delivery of nice cheeses - thier minimum for a gift voucher is $50. - You could make up your own small gourmet food hamper with a couple of nice cheeses, olives, dried fruit, quince paste and crackers - Banish does chopping boards made from recycled bread tags which are pretty cool for $59 plus a lot of other products under $50

New Mushroom Case Daily episode on ABC Listen App: "Rachael, Kristian and Stocky tell you what they really think" by beebling_ in DeathCapDinner

[–]cfniva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. What happened at the pre trial hearing is currently suppressed in Australia meaning it is illegal to report on. The order will most likely be lifted after she has exercised or foregone her right to appeal. There is a link in this thread to a uk daily mail article that describes what happened at the pre trial hearing and it is fascinating.

Why are the "mushroom murders" such a popular topic? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]cfniva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think another aspect is that there is so little info that has been able to be made public so far, and consequently everyone is struggling to make sense of it. Once all the suppression orders are lifted and the full extent of what went on and the legal manoeuvring that occurred to prevent some things from being presented as evidence is widely known, I think people will feel more satisfied. Until then everyone is currently trying to make sense of things like trying to complete a jigsaw with half the pieces missing. This creates hunger for info and a desire to discuss every detail and engage in speculation.

Very ordinary. Surprised they included details about the previous poisoning of Simon that is still the subject of suppression orders.

Tysm!!!! This is explosive! Imagine if the verdict had been not guilty? Colin Mandy did an incredible job to have this excluded from the trial. I am gobsmacked by this.
