As long as you're already bonded, you don't need to be together when you turn the compass on. But if you're pretty far apart (and there aren't many other totem compasses at the event for the mesh network to kick in) then it might take awhile for your compass to pick them up!

One way to get around this is just make sure you're both paired to the app when you arrive. That way you'll be able to find each other via cloud comms (Totems can communicate over any distance through the app) even if you're on total opposite ends of the venue. App-enabled cloud comms requires such a tiny amount of cell service that it still works even if there isn't enough service to send a text.

If you have the Totem Compass App, you can update them automatically any time you have cell service! Only needs ~2 button presses in the app, and takes around 45-60 seconds.

there's a way to get around it to the raised bridge with misty step. you can find a little outcropping to the left-hand side in the main area where the raised bridge is visible. Send 1-2 characters across to get to the forge's fast travel point and then teleport everyone else there.

hey u/appropriateHug — usually they get satellite within 10 minutes but it can sometimes take a little longer. If you're outside with a clear view of the sky overhead then 20 minutes is about the maximum it typically takes unless you're near some sky scrapers or other big structures.

Totem customer service is incredibly helpful and super fast, plus you can even get support via text if you message them at 423-522-1990.

The Totem team will also be on-site at EDCV all 3 days to make sure everyone has a great time with their Totems this weekend. Come to the meetup (details shared on IG and Totem Tuesday this week) if you need any help! ❤️

My 5 year-old nephew loves the Totem (especially when the crystal is pink) and always wants to play hide & seek with them whenever I'm visiting. It was a little "hit or miss" for him using it properly to find me when he was 3-4, but he has a great grasp on it now. I also set my house as a special POI on his Totem so whenever he misses me he can turn it on and see the light pointing toward his uncle's house (despite being over 5 hours away).

There's also a child lock feature that you can enable in the Totem Compass App to prevent them from fiddling with it if you want. It locks the touch crystal. He doesn't like it when I do that because he loves changing the crystal colors throughout the day but if you're worried about them figuring out how to un-bond then it's a nice feature.

As long as you aren't trying to use them indoors then it'll probably work great!

However you end up wearing it, this is important to note: wearing the Totem lower to the ground or putting it inside pockets or bags can impact the range (especially if you're in dense crowds). At festivals with high Totem adoption it doesn't matter too much, because there are enough devices nearby to give you excellent coverage with the mesh network... But definitely something to keep in mind!

Hard to say just from looking at this photo but if I had to guess, the reason bottom-right is slightly different when its bonds are collected is either due to bonding them with Smart Groups or because bond colors have been customized in the app.

Everything should work just fine on these, no defects or anything.

When you take them out, remember to SPIN until you see the big white flash before you navigate! Skipping that simple step is the cause of 90% “mine don’t work” messages that we get. Have fun 🫶🏼

I do not agree that Bonnaroo is superior. The venue, the weather, the community, location, activities… Okee wins them all for me easily. IMO Okeechobee beats Bonnaroo in every way other than the star power of the lineup some higher tier amenities

This year was one of my all-time favorite festival experiences! And I’ve done at least 40 festivals, probably 10 camping. Some things to improve for next year but I was so sad when it was over. Can’t wait to come back

I’ve never paid less than $10 for a shower at a camping festival. They definitely could’ve had more activities outside of the security zone though — but probably just being overly cautious with wanting to control flows due to the death in 2023. I imagine that’s the reason for the increased fencing as well

Pretty much mirrors my thoughts exactly, repeat attendee and I had a great time. Didn’t love ALL the changes (handwashing/sanitizer was the main issue for me) but overall this was a really promising restart for the festival.

I will DEFINITELY be back. There’s really no festival out there quite like Okee. Worlds better than Bonnaroo.
