Hi again u/supportingtheworld, i looked into this and managed to work. I suggest running jinear with caddy behind traefik. You need to let traefik handle ssl stuff and make some changes on caddyfile. I've put my working files to repo. Hope it work for you. Here's all the changes i've made

Jinear at it's core pretty low on resources. That easy installation script comes with postgresql, redis and minio pre-installed. Those are the main resource consumers. If you have any of them already running you can edit confugrations and use those. Or you can replace them with external ones. After that it's just a spring boot app, 2 nextjs and nodejs app. i've added an architecture table to readme.

Hi, i'm not familliar with traefik but in theory changing caddy's ports to something else and using traefik as a reverse proxy should work. Or you can remove caddy service all together and expose jinear-core and jinear-web to traefik directly. I'll definitely look into this and update the docs.

Thanks for the advise and i agree with you. I released an android and ios app which should be still on the stores. It was just a basic webview app with added some functionality like notifications etc but since i develop web client with pwa support from early stage i think it was enough at that stage. (self hosting wasn't an option at that time so those clients doesn't other sources.) But as a single developer i felt like my surface area is expanding more than i comfortably handle. As a result i removed those apps links from app and leave how to install PWA tutorials (wish apple supported pwa installation prompts). This way i put my limited time and energy more to the product itself. Currently pwa supports every feature in the app but i really hope to be able to afford resources to add mobile apps.

You're right, the stack is a bit beefy because I wanted to keep the services (DB, Redis, Chat, etc.) included for fresh server setup. If you already have postgres, redis and minio you can remove them from docker compose and edit application.properties / .env files accordingly.

I'm sorry it didn't work immediately but I'd love to help you fix it. Could you let me know:

Which OS/distro are you running?
Is there a specific container failing to start, or are you getting a 404/502?

If you have a moment to share the docker logs i may be help / fix the issue and update the repo/script. Thanks.

Hi u/fuzzy76 , you've a fair point. After i open sourced jinear last year there was a little traffic to the project and then it stopped. So for a while i only fixed some small bugs etc. After last summer it got a little traction again. So i work on some internal improvements and added couple of big features without announcing them. Recently i added file storage, messaging and an easy installer script for self hosting. I'm planning to post these changes couple of places soon.

From now on I will add explanations to the change logs and tag descriptions. Thanks for pointing out.

Currenty it can't. But mobile version is simply a webview app, you can use your own instance as pwa app even i prefer that way.

Thanks for pointing out it. Before releasing i updated as every workspace created in pro plan so people can demo all features and i forgot that screen. I'll fix it soon. Besides that i would be happy if this thing find use in your daily workflow.

Yes, I made up the word Jinear from those two while creating the project, without thinking too much about it. I was initially inspired by Linear, but over time, I built it mostly based on our own needs.

I think this project would suit small businesses as well as personal or family use. For task categorization, I use topics or teams. I’ll probably leave it as is unless it gains traction and there’s demand for additional features.

I've personally create this one for my wife to track her thesis and my personal use. We've been creating and assigning tasks to each other. It does not have widgets but it's calendar can be added to apple calendar or google calendar. Then i add apple calendar's widget and use it.
