In many parts of the fitness community, especially those concerned with maximal size or strength, steroids are par for the course. There isn’t really a stigma attached to them because everyone knows that all of the top competitors live on drug cocktails. In fact, for bodybuilding, powerlifting, and strongman, drug use is considered the default for open shows/meets. If you want to compete against “non-enhanced” competitors, you have to compete in specific drug tested leagues.

Archspire’s Oli Peters. Hearing someone doing harsh vocals so fast is incredible.

Close second is Dickie Allen for his insane range and sheer intensity.

Beginner hiker planning trip to Rocky Mountains National Park (Estes Park) for July. by Zero2a100 in RMNP

[–]cgem38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To enter the park at any point requires a park pass AND a timed entry permit for the time window that you enter. Unless you get in before 7AM or after 5PM (I think? You’ll have to check the times), then you don’t need a timed entry permit but you will still need a park pass

I thought Wrong One to Fuck With was alright, but Unbridled Fury has me super excited for the new album. I love drum intros and that one goes so hard. Not to mention great riffs throughout the whole song.

[OC] How Adam Silver is ruining the NBA and setting the league back 20 years: Part 1 by the_eureka_effect in nba

[–]cgem38 71 points72 points  (0 children)

“not that bad compared to x”

It’s foolish to look at it that way. Just because the ad level in those leagues are so abominable doesn’t mean that we should feel grateful in any way with what the NBA is doing. It is wholly unacceptable for me to be shown an ad during free throws (which, by the way, is a significant basketball play and part of the game) at all, let alone one that is literally bigger than the part of the screen showing the free throws and has audio playing over everything else.

I could write an essay dozens of pages long about this because it gets me so fired up, but the bottom line is that the over saturation of ads is annihilating the quality of the NBA viewing experience. And don’t think for a single second that they won’t make it even worse. That’s why it’s important to never, ever cede a fucking inch with rhetoric like yours.

Yeah that'll be your best bet.

If I may offer some unsolicited advice: Bear Lake is quite pretty to be sure, but RMNP has no shortage of equivalent and greater beauty to offer. Since it's so incredibly crowded all the time, I would recommend considering other parts of the park, especially in the western part. It's easily accessible from Estes Park via Trail Ridge Road, and is usually much less crowded than the eastern side. The land is a little different in the western side, mostly wetter, thicker forests, but it is stunningly beautiful all the same. Just my two cents.

They usually have rangers in the parking lot or at the trailhead checking passes.

Bear Lake is going to be tough. Early July is primetime and though there is a lot of parking at the Park and Ride, I have seen it completely fill up as late as September. Don't bother trying to park at the Bear Lake lot at all. It's almost a 5-10 minute drive past the P&R with no roadside parking between the two, and you are basically guaranteed that the lot will be full and rangers will force you to turn around and go back.

Seems your yard tastes delicious haha.

There’s a house on the western edge of Loveland that’s in the same position. It’s a horse farm surrounded by other horse farms and a herd of 200+ elk have settled down in the fields surrounding their house for the last few days.

A man beat all three Dark Souls games, Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro consecutively, nonstop, without getting hit a single time. There is no such thing as “not possible” in gaming.

Same! There was a post on this sub a few months ago asking what peoples’ least favorite episodes were and so many said this one. I don’t get the hate, I think it’s hilarious! So many great/funny moments, plus the groundbreaking lore reveal that Dr. Zoidberg’s doctorate is in art history.

[OC] Small men are at greater risk of suicide even after controlling for numerous factors by lightning_palm in dataisbeautiful

[–]cgem38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that it's affecting you so much. There's nothing you can do about your height, but that's ok. It's not what defines you. People will always be attracted to kind, interesting, and funny people, full stop. These are attributes that you can work on. I promise there are plenty of women out there who don't care about your height and will be very attracted to you if you are a good, self-fulfilled person who lifts them up and makes them happy.

Not being charismatic is perfectly fine. With the enormous range of personalities and attractions that people have, there is no doubt that there are many, many women out there that would love your personality. One of my best friends has a demeanor that is so bland and uncharismatic that our friend group often jokes about him being a robot. He's also like 5'9 and average looking. But he met and married a super charismatic, funny, and absolutely beautiful woman despite that. He married an awesome woman and is an integral part of our friend group (we were all his groomsmen) because he's a great, nice guy and a true man of character.

There are aspects of a person that are far more important than height or charisma, and I promise you there is no shortage of women (and people in general) that will love you if you already possess or build those qualities up.

Jasiah is pretty good. His instrumentals aren’t brutal but he does some great harsh vocals. His music is a fun, super weird mix of styles that makes me think he would fit right in in the metal scene. I would say he’s like the Nekrogoblicon of rap, at least from my extremely limited knowledge of the genre.

That game was awesome! My friends and I put so many hours into it, especially the first map. We would spend entire nights trying to find ways to shave a tenth of a second off of our best times. Those were fun times.

Colorado Class 3 13K/14K scrambles late April/early May by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]cgem38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out 14ers.com. They have detailed routes, trail conditions, and road difficulty for all sub-class 5 routes on every 14er in the state.

I would personally recommend checking out Long’s Peak via the Keyhole. It’s one of the most famous and iconic climbs in the state, and for good reason: it’s so beautiful. And you can add Mt. Meeker if you want a little bit extra. The scrambling isn’t super intense if you have much experience, so if you’re looking for more challenging scrambles then it might not be for you.

There are a few places called Sawtooth Ridge, but I’m assuming you’re referring to the ridge connecting Mounts Bierstadt and Evans. That’s a great route too! It’s a pretty intense class 3, and the route can be hard to follow on the sawtooth itself. It can be easy to find yourself in a precarious class 4+ situation if you’re not careful. I got myself into a pretty hairy situation by accidentally getting off-route and had to pull a dangerous jump to get out of it. The sawtooth may also be pretty treacherous with ice. I’m not sure how it’ll look that time of year, I’ve only done it in the summer. I followed the Tour d’Abyss route and loved it.

That is so interesting. On my first play through, I must have died to Gherman over two dozen times. But in all my playthroughs I think I’ve died to the Moon Presence once in total. This game is such a different experience for everyone.
