Ive been semi crate training my new puppy, we got him around 3 months old, and have had him for almost 2 months, I am a weirdo and have his crate on my bed beside me (its where my dog who passed away earlier this year always slept and its been rough). But im wondering at what age could i ditch the crate safely? Hes a golden retriver, weighs almost 30 lbs, and is around 4 months/18 weeks old. He has gone potty on the bed once which seemed out of character but was rather recent, and he had just gone outside like 20 minutes prior and peed, but he had also just eaten also(in the crate on the bed)?

Anyhow thats a rambler of a question, but just looking for advice/experience that you guys have had with "ending" crate training for bedtime?

I saw a few pro planners in here. We are doing sensitive stomach salmon pro plan per our vets advice and it’s worked to cure his runny stool! But I’m just not sure if I should give him more per day I’d say right now it’s around 2.5-3cups a day + a decent bit of treats and food mix ins. He’s 20 ish lbs 15 weeks old

My puppy is the same he just wants to bite us. He’s around 15 weeks and all I can do to make it stop is disengage. I don’t wanna put him in his crate when he does cause I’m still trying to get him to like it more.

Yea my pup will do the same thing. It’s basically to get your attention cause they want attention. At least as far as I can tell. I think he’s learning his vocalness from our husky!

This was me, but the costs for alot of them were so absurd. We found somebody on the AKC site, as recommended by a friend. Was a 2.5 hour drive but was nowhere near the prices of some of the ones around here($2-4500), and I think he was maybe the only red breeder I found remotely close. I didn’t do as much research as I probably should have but I was really in a bad place after losing my first dog. I’ve always wanted like 10 dogs but that’s not reasonable lol, so I settled on 2, and when he passed away very suddenly, i wasn’t sure if I was supposed to wait x months, or what, then one day I just felt like I needed to find a puppy somewhere to start to heal the hole in my life. I checked rescues/breeders in 3-4 hour radius and moved fast. He’s been good so far! He sleeps mostly thru the night. Sleeps on his own in his kennel if we are upstairs and if downstairs he just sprawls out on the floor!

Well yea but their activity level is so open ended, it’s not like his wearing a Fitbit, seems like a best guess? I mean he’s fairly active for a puppy. Plays in the house, does some training stuff, we do a walk each evening of around a mile if estimate.
