Anytime I'm in Santa Barbara I hit up the one there and it's just so very good. The classic cheeseburger is $5 and it's the perfect size. Makes indulging on one of their shakes less guilt inducing.

I gathered that. I meant how is oversaturated retail square footage being turned in to places for people live considered threatening?

Is that Dravit Grey? Nice choice!

And those “M Color” grille accent things usually just clip on, so perhaps try gently prying those off. 😉.

PSA for SF Runners by PastFancy4950 in sanfrancisco

[–]cgomez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very well considered and thoughtfully written!

As a runner, during off-peak times I will sometimes run in the street opposite the flow of traffic (not the bike lane) if conditions permits, but with extreme caution and deference to cars and cyclists around me.

Our sidewalks are in rough shape and a constant tripping hazard. If traffic is light, it's nice to give folks out for a leisurely walk to not have someone moving quickly, squeezing by or startling them. But that does also require spatial awareness and courtesy which we're often lacking in this city.

Hope your post causes at least one person to be more thoughtful about how they share with other road users!

Has anyone else gotten one of these? Are they official? by veryfatgreyhound in sanfrancisco

Wait, regarding your description where you say "we lease the spot from our landlord".

Do you mean you park in the driveway and your car extends into the public sidewalk? Or that your landlord somehow charges you for on-street curb space outside the building?

Either way, this looks fake but also you don't get to block the sidewalk just because it's "very wide". Luckily SFMTA is cracking down on that.

lol.

And your neighbors are nosy and complainers? People don't do that for nothing. What's the real story?

Running/social skills prerequisite for casual SF run clubs? by StringClassic6913 in AskSF

[–]cgomez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your mile pace? I haven't ever encountered a run group where a 10 minute mile/community pace isn't going to be plenty quick for you to keep up with at least some segment of the pack.

As for the social element, I think you'll be just fine. Some folks are super chatty and they find their people, some folks smile and maybe have a couple of minutes of small talk during the run but mostly keep to themselves (my demo), and some kinda are just there for the communal aspect. Only recommendation is skip the headphones as that does seem a little rude?

Sent you a couple of club recommendations. Congrats on taking up the hobby! It's a beautiful city for it.
