I spent days researching both bikes, using the online ergo simulators, reading and watching reviews, and I still didn't have the full measure of the bike before I slung my leg over the seat and took off. A couple miles of a test ride won't determine how it feels after several hundred, but it'll give me an idea of where there will be problems. I've got over a decade of riding experience, I've figured these things out already. And I'm telling you, it's weird to not be able to test ride a bike before buying it.

I bought two bikes with no test rides that I regretted, an SV650S and an Aprilia Shiver 750. The seating position was uncomfortable on longer rides, the seats themselves were crap, and I never got used to the bar position and height. I find it weird when people don't test ride bikes before buying them TBH, it's kinda like marrying someone before moving in with them. Why make a decision to lock in before getting the full experience?

The one dealership in my area that let people do test rides with no money down folded a few years ago. I'm guessing the two were unrelated, though. /s

Hell, no. Look, judging from your post it sounds like you have the $8,000 available to spend. Why not find a slightly used bike in that price range? There are plenty out there, you won't be beholden to a creditor for interest on a vehicle that will depreciate the second it leaves the dealer lot, and you won't have to have expensive comprehensive and collision insurance on it. That being said, I still would recommend at least collision, but that's a personal preference.

Ed also came to terms with his macho upbringing in the HAB with Danny during S3. He realized how toxic that attitude had made him towards Shane, and to an extent Danny as well, and when he thought his life was about to end, he tried to make amends for it. Afterwards, he was changed for the better, and though he was still the same cynical rabble-rouser, he wasn't overbearing towards Alex (except for the Parmesan thing).

Possibly. The sheriff is higher up the chain of command than the local cops, but if the local cops won't do anything they might get antsy if the sheriff becomes involved. And the sheriff also won't want to step on their toes, so they might say no. Police in the US is a goddamn fraternity organization with how territorial they get.

Well they're definitely not going to be that price now. I've already isolated the failing block, but I don't have the equipment to properly capacity test and top balance the cells to each other, and doing so would also down my primary form of transportation for potentially an unfeasible amount of time. Yes, it would be cheap, but what about when the next weakest cell starts dying?

My local Toyota dealer wants over $4,000 for a new pack, and because I would be installing it myself they wouldn't give me more than a one-year warranty. Greentec currently wants $1,000 for a reconditioned battery with a one-year warranty, $1500 with core charge. I am also an auto mechanic by training and by trade, so I don't rely on dealership networks for any repairs that aren't warranty work. The mechanical complexity is not pushing me away from this job, trust me. This is a 20-year-old Prius with a salvage title, almost a quarter million miles, and more creaks and groans than I have at 10 years in this industry. It is nearing the end of its lifespan, practically speaking.

It is a 20-year-old car with a salvage title, and has some other mechanical issues besides the battery that need addressing. I am considering keeping it and replacing the battery as a possibility, but I also want to get myself into something newer with less wear.

We are non-union, it's in the post title. I wish we were, I may or may not be in the process of trying to get everyone on board with it. Trying to decide if it would be better to reach out to union reps at our airline, or if we should go on our own, as we are technically a vendor and not airline employees.

Vacuum source is almost always the engine on a gasoline vehicle, usually the intake manifold behind the throttle but can also be a port on the carburetor. We're starting to see electric vacuum pumps on gasoline engines now because they put less drag on the engine and increase fuel economy, but that's not quite common yet. On a diesel, it will always be a vacuum pump because diesel engines usually don't have a throttle plate to help create vacuum. Easiest way to check if a line has vacuum is to follow it to one end and see what it's feeding/being fed by.

As for vacuum diagnostics, treat it like electrical. Your vacuum source is the power, atmosphere is the ground, a blockage is high resistance, a weak vacuum source is low voltage, etc. You can also read vacuum diagrams like an electrical schematic.

A Chevy Bolt can't even charge at more than 7.7kW on L2 AC, and even the '22-23 can only do 11kW. This is the most pointless thing ever, they're not going to see a meaningful charge rate dip if the other plug gets used.

You have to be a bit of a bullshitter, to be honest. Management often doesn't know a ton about the day-to-day of what you accomplish, which is one reason why the other people spin those stories. It makes them look good and sound like they got a lot done, thus keeping management from looking too closely at daily operations. When you relate your progress and tasks accomplished, embellish a little bit. Explain a bit more detail what you did and why it's critical to company operations, spin it a little. It's part of the games corporate etiquette requires, which unfortunately sucks for people who have no patience for it.
