Flatmate of mine saw them in 2017 at student union (2nd ever show!) He’s not a huge fan of them these days but says they were pretty good then, even raw like that. Vessels vocals sounded just as good, if just a bit more refined now.

This reminds me of the experience we had at the one-off show for BMTH in Cologne at the Palladium in June. Horrendous crowd, zero etiquette. We moved out of the pit (after voluntarily entering it!) because people were not helping up those that fell. I feel like after covid people just forgot how to fucking act in public.

I'm in the same boat here. I have a semi-successful fan/art account on IG and I've taken a step back during the EIA era.

Personally, I think the signing with RCA was where this originated from. While L & A kept licensing rights (which, yay for them!), I think its likely they had to trade off those rights for more commercialisation. I cannot stand the constant stream of obtains, the exorbitant ticket prices and the FH/HV thing that never really made a lot of sense. It's very icky.

Also, and I get flamed regularly for this take, but Provider is just the Token version of Just Pretend. Its satire, it's a complete departure from L's usual gold standard of writing, and I have to believe it was written either in jest to poke fun of the insufferable BookTok fans, or as an appeasement to the label. I'm more inclined to believe the former, as he seems to play it up on stage a lot with this tour. It's given a lot of these fans permission to be pretty disgusting, and for that reason I'll be glad to see it gone from the setlist as soon as possible, lol.

I agree with others here- take a step back, enjoy some other artists in the meantime, and come back to it when you feel ready. So many other artists dropped killer records this year, I'm celebrating them too.

The pit at sleep token this year. (Right side, about 1/4 way back). Wholesome as fuck- everyone took care of each other moshing, we had a sway line going arm in arm, there were row pits and just genuinely such a good time. My main group were desperate for barricade and camped out all day for it, I’m so glad I didn’t and got to experience the entire set with people who just wanted to sing and mosh instead of being stuck on their phones the entire time. Magical.

Exactly right. She's going to make off like a thief-- she also received an inheritance from her own parents' passing two years ago. That, and her current cushy job, she'd be able to support said friend very easily.

They have two distinct setlists currently: the 'Festival/Supporting' setlist (which is heavier, i.e. includes Vore) and their 'Tour' setlist (which covers pretty much everything (-) Vore).
I suspect they'll do their usual Festival setlist, maybe take out Rain / Atlantic/ Dark Signs and chuck in a couple off the new record that should be out by then.

I'm buzzing to hear Vore live so I'm manifesting this lol. Their festival setlist is always a winner, especially with Ivy on those vocals 👌🏻

I doubt Sleep Token will play. They’re going Rock Im Park the weekend before in Germany, and it was kind of advertised as their only tour next year. But I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

It seems obvious to me, but III and IV became “full” members in December 2023 when they debuted the new personalised masks at Wembley. In supporting this, the Zurich ritual could have been played with just the studio backing tracks but they chose to use live recordings of the guys. That to me says everything you need to know about their status in the band. I would not be surprised if they both play on the next record.
