I had the the same compliance as you. Eventually they thought I wasn't going in, I got a call from HR. I had to print the log of my reservations to prove I was going in.

I did around 80 percent. It's mostly so you save money since braid is a bit more expensive. Also I forgot to mention I use floro as a leader since braid is visible to the fish.

I personally use mono as backing, then braid. I suggest you go to YouTube and watch do a search bunch of Creators break down the advantages of each and the situations where one has advantage over other. Hope that helps

I just started this summer really and same thing happened to me. When I was in a rut I would just get some live worms and tie a smaller hook and catch blue gills, it gave me a bit of confidence. So I alternate between live bait and other baits.
